Hi guys, its me again,
So I am looking to add a forum menu like studiopress forum has in the header (navigation menu) which lists forums.
To be more clear, this is what I would like to have
Unfortunately, this what I have now
My forum is here http://bit.ly/1CHzWMk
Here is what I did so far :
1) Added new widget area
2) Added custom menu into the appearance>widgets
3) Tried a little bit of CSS
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
I am sure that :
1) I missed the right genesis hook to add my widget to
2) I am not able to target the right area with the cssAny help is highly appreciated.
Thanks so much, looking forward to hearing what you guys think.

Don't

October 3, 2014 at 12:57 pm #126695PavleMemberOkay, so I talked to @braddalton and the reason this code is infringing his copyrights is that I removed link to Brad´s site which I use as my #1 resource.
I would like to publicly apologize to Brad Dalton, as it was not my intention in any way to do that. My site got hit by the latest Panda 4.1 and I was advised to remove the links by one of my fellow bloggers.
Here is the original tutorial on how to add bbPress widge
The link from the GistHub will be removed ,and once again sorry Brad.
Okay, so if anyone else can help me with this menu, I would appreciate it.
October 4, 2014 at 3:05 am #126740Genesis DeveloperMemberBy 4 steps I make the menu on bbPress forum
1. Create a Widget Area . Add the php code in functions.php file
2. Create a Menu (Appearance->Menus) and drag & drop the custom menu widget in this new widget area from Appearance->Widgets page.
3. Next I call genesis_entry_header hook and displaying this new widget area using conditional tag
4. Lastly I customize the CSS and setup the design as per my site design. That's it.
See the Demo

October 4, 2014 at 2:42 pm #126774Genesis DeveloperMemberI just checked your site (http://www.cardzreview.com/forums) but I am not getting any menu
October 4, 2014 at 2:44 pm #126775PavleMemberHm, its strange, custom menu only appears on the homepage when the user is logged in.
However it appears on the topics, right ? http://bit.ly/1nUyfs4
October 4, 2014 at 2:53 pm #126776Genesis DeveloperMemberTry this conditional tag then it will only display on forum pages
if ( !is_admin() && in_array( get_post_type(), array('forum', 'topic', 'reply') ) )
October 4, 2014 at 2:55 pm #126777PavleMemberThanks, I´ll try that out right away.
