I'm having an issue getting the header of my new Magazine Pro theme to look the way I want it to.
I would like to add a custom logo to the right hand side of the header and place the social media icons to the far left. The social media icons are no problem because there is already a widget for this. Unfortunately the image I'd like to use for the logo is larger than the default 380x90 allowed size. I'd prefer to use 580x90. I have edited the functions.php file and stylesheet where I can clearly see the 380px reference.
BUT even though I do this, when I add in the social icons to the right side and upload the custom logo, the end result is that my image still gets shrunk down to a noticeably reduced size when you look at it on the front end. Is there a way that I can keep my logo from being reduced in size?
As an alternative solution, I would be satisfied with just using the theme's default text for my logo. However, again when I add in the social icons to the right, the header text insists on wrapping itself into two lines instead of just staying on one line like I would want it to. Is there a way I can remove this text wrap?

Otherwise you end up with two header elements that can't be on the same line because they're wider than the header. Hopefully that makes sense.

.site-header .widget-area {
float: right;
text-align: right;
/* width: 728px; */
width: 528px;Is there something else in the code that I'm missing?
December 28, 2013 at 10:41 am #81588nutsandboltsMemberI'm not sure I completely understand what you're seeing versus how you want it to look. Right now I see the header at 100% and the social icons in the sidebar - does the title behave itself that way, or are you still experiencing the same issue?

I have a similar problem so I thought I would just post it here to avoid cluttering up the forum 🙂
Similarly to the OP, I would like to have a logo/smaller header aligned to the left and the social media icon widget to the left. However the widget doesn't show.
When I went into the style.css file, I saw this bit:
/* Full width header, no widgets */
.header-full-width .title-area,
.header-full-width .site-title {
width: 100%;
}which seems to be the issue... mind you, css newbie here, so 3/4 of the time I am not sure what I am looking at 😉
How do I edit it so that both the header (600px width) and the widget show up?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm seeing both the social icons and your logo in the header - did you get this resolved? I may not be understanding exactly what you want it to look like, so feel free to tell me in more detail and I'd be glad to help if I can.

I am so sorry, I think I handled this. I am pretty stubborn, so I didn't give up until I got it 🙂
