I know how to change the CSS styles and the function. But what I'm stumped on is the large paragraph of html code in stylesheet that gives me a warning that if I don't update it my site might break. How do I update that code??
thank you in advance

PhyllisOctober 30, 2018 at 6:08 am #224061Victor FontModeratorWhat large paragraph of HTML? I've looked at your style sheet and the one supplied with Digital Pro. I do not see what you are referencing.
If you have a large block of HTML embedded in your style sheet, the style sheet wouldn't work.

October 31, 2018 at 7:58 am #224096Victor FontModeratorThat's not HTML. That's the baseline normalize CSS. It is in the style sheet for every Studio Press theme. It's used to set a baseline for browsers before your custom CSS takes over.
The current version of normalize is 8.0. When I build sites for my customers, I routinely update the normalize code to the current version. You can find the current version here: https://necolas.github.io/normalize.css/

Thanks again

Have you requested your free website audit yet?November 1, 2018 at 11:15 am #224111PhyllisOrzalliMemberI would want to, if that will fix the issue of getting the warning to not update my CSS font changes.
Thank you
November 1, 2018 at 12:52 pm #224114Victor FontModeratorTruthfully, I don't know how changing the reset code would have anything to do at all with the warning message you're receiving. I've never seen that message in the wild. The reset code executes before all other CSS, so it wouldn't even 'know' about what fonts you're using.

November 3, 2018 at 12:56 pm #224145AnitaKeymasterPhyllis, when and where are you getting the ---> "warning to not update my CSS font changes." If you are making font changes in the stylesheet, they shouldn't get overwritten on an update unless you replace the entire theme with an updated version. The same with your themes functions.php file.

November 5, 2018 at 11:49 am #224192PhyllisOrzalliMemberI've been using Genesis themes for over 5 years now and have changed the font many times on different themes. I've never had these warnings come up before. It makes me a little nervous to make any changes to the font, which is unfortunate. So thought I would inquire about why they are showing up. This is the first time I've used this theme and wanted a little different look to the font.
The first warning that I saw was by the 'Update File' button at the bottom, where it says: There is 1 error which must be fixed before you can update this file. With a checkbox that says: Update anyway, even though it might break your site?
Going back over the CSS I see an ! and an X (both with an explanation) at these places:
!(Outlines should only be using :focus) html{font-family:sans-serif;........... see above.
also:
textarea {
background-color: #f5f5f5;
!(Using width with border can sometimes make elements larger than you expect) border: 1px solid #f5f5f5;
color: #5b5e5e;
font-family: 'Lora', serif;
font-size: 18px;
font-size: 1.8rem;
font-weight: 300;
!(Using width with border can sometimes make elements larger than you expect) padding: 20px;
width: 100%;
}input[type="submit"],
.content input[type="submit"] {
font-size: 16px;
font-size: 1.6rem;
!(Using width with border can sometimes make elements larger than you expect) padding: 20px 25px;
width: 100%;X (says: Unknown) @-ms-keyframes fadein {
from { opacity: 0; }
to { opacity: 1; }.site-header {
background-color: #fff;
border-bottom: 1px solid transparent;
!(Using width with border can sometimes make elements larger than you expect) padding: 28px 30px;
position: fixed;
top: 0;
width: 100%;
z-index: 999;Thanks
PhyllisNovember 5, 2018 at 11:52 am #224193AnitaKeymasterThose are flags by WordPress which were added in version 4.9 - https://codex.wordpress.org/Version_4.9.
They aren't Genesis specific and you really can disregard those. And some of the errors may be browser specific. They are not bugs. They are warnings.
