Theme: Showcase Pro
I have to downgrade my Showcase Pro theme from 2.0.2 to 2.0.0 because of some lost functionality. I was wondering what is the best way to downgrade the theme version and not lose any of the settings. Being new to this I am not sure if there is a way to save anything before hand or will the settings still be there when I downgrade?
Also do I have to make a different theme the active one first, then delete version 2.0.2, then upload and activate version 2.0.0 since the older theme will not be allowed to override the new theme version.
All suggestions are appreciated!

When you say you lost functionality, what do you mean? Child themes rarely, if ever, need to be updated. They are never auto-updated for a reason. If you had customizations in the earlier version of the theme, and you updated to the point release without manually transferring those customizations over, they are already gone and cannot be recovered unless you restore from a pre-update backup. Customizations to child themes are usually applied directly to the theme's style.css and functions.php files. Updating to a later child theme release overwrites any customizations you had.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?July 21, 2017 at 8:38 pm #209418XWreconParticipantI was using the previous theme version to test it out on a demo site. I then decided to use it for a live site but did not know this feature was removed when I downloaded the new version and starting setting it up. The developer said I would have to use the earlier version to get this feature back so that is what I need to do. So I was wondering if everything I set up in terms of widgets and uploading images and inserting them into pages would be lost?
July 21, 2017 at 8:51 pm #209423SusanModeratorAny images added to pages etc. will remain, as will all content.
For your widgets, they will also remain, since the update of the Showcase Pro theme did NOT change the name of any of the widgets.
Widgets may move into the "inactive widgets" when you switch from the Showcase Pro theme to another theme (which you'll need to do in order to delete the current version of Showcase Pro you have on your site). They should automatically repopulate when you update to the previous version of the theme.

Thanks for your input!
If I understand you correctly I should:
1. Activate another theme (ex. Twenty Seventeen or should it be another Genesis child theme?)
2. Delete Showcase Pro 2.0.2 theme
3. Upload Showcase Pro 2.0.0 theme
4. Activate Showcase Pro 2.0.0 themeThen review and see what I have to add back, hopefully not alot. 🙂

Thanks for all the help!
