For some reason, the link anchors on these two websites, which use the Altitude Pro theme, are no longer functioning in Chrome for Mac v61.0.3163.79, which is the latest release. Both websites are functioning fine in Safari v10.1.2.
Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

I updated Chrome to 61.0.3163.79 and links no longer worked. Cleared cache and restarted Chrome. All worked. I also tried Chrome Canary Version 63.0.3214.0 and everything works.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?September 13, 2017 at 11:51 am #211413RavenManiacParticipantOkay, I found out that the problem was with the Altitude Pro child theme. I was using Altitude Pro 1.0.0. The latest version is 1.1.3, which seems to resolve the Chrome Link anchor problem. Hopefully, this will help others who may be experiencing the same issue.
BTW, many thanks to Robert for his child theme replacement strategy: https://www.studiopress.community/topic/outdated-child-theme/#post-207760

September 14, 2017 at 7:13 am #211443detroitwidgetMemberThis is a known issue with Chrome 61 and has been confirmed by StudioPress. It may affect earlier versions of the following child themes (and possibly others) that rely on home page ID anchors:
- Altitude Pro
- Atmosphere Pro
- Cafe ProUpdating the child theme may resolve the issue. If not, contact StudioPress support -- They were very helpful.
September 14, 2017 at 7:18 am #211444RavenManiacParticipantThat's good to know. Thanks for the info.
September 14, 2017 at 7:30 am #211448RavenManiacParticipantOkay, so this situation begs this question.
If StudioPress knew this was a problem, and as a Pro Package Owner, why wasn't I notified? After all, this isn't some obscure browser. As of this year, Chrome, is America's most popular browser with a 44.5% market share.
Instead, I found out by shear accident and it's lucky that I did. But, what if my customer, or their customer, would have brought this to my attention? I would have looked really stupid.
Did I miss something? Did StudioPress make any formal announcement about the Chrome 61 problem? Did it advise its users to upgrade to the latest versions of the themes detroitwidget posted?
Keep in mind that I'm not bashing StudioPress, but this kind of information needs to be better communicated. Heck, I get regular updates from WordFence and other plugin companies on known threats or compatibility issues and how to resolve them, and a lot of these are free.
