First, I did search this issue and found a post that recommended only adding a featured image and that would take care of the double image on the homepage. But as you can see from this link, if you look at the first post, did just that and am still getting a double image.

Second part of the question, in order to have the image size similar to the demo, the featured image needs to be those dimensions.... it doesn't automatically crop it right? As you can see this image she put in covers up the date.
Or am I just losing my mind over some very simple fix 🙂
March 11, 2013 at 2:56 pm #25504AnitaKeymasterYou can hide the featured image by looking for:
a img { border: medium none; }
replace that with this:
a img { display: none; }
To answer your second question, it should auto crop the image if it's a landscaped image. If you apply a portrait image it
willwill not size properly.

March 12, 2013 at 8:19 am #25642bobwpMemberThanks will give that a shot with the image.
But for the life of me, even with a search I wasn't able to find:
a img {
border: medium none;
}March 12, 2013 at 10:59 am #25662AnitaKeymasterOkay, then just add that new code I gave you to the bottom of your style.css file.

March 13, 2013 at 11:38 am #25889bobwpMemberThanks that worked. I don't see it putting it as the large image above the post, but will see if this works for them...
March 20, 2013 at 9:49 am #29713bobwpMemberI'm back with another issue. And wondering if there is a workaround. After adding that code to the bottom, it appears now that this also affects creating a default gallery with WordPress. Any way I can get that back without having the double image?
March 20, 2013 at 11:02 am #29725Andrea RennickMemberThis theme has code in the functions.php file that adds the featured image above the post.
Remove that code from functions.php instead of hiding it with css.

March 29, 2013 at 12:46 pm #31955kjcMemberHi - I'm working in the luscious theme on wordpress.com and having the double image issue. I removed the image from the post and set it as a feature. That got rid of the duplicate, but the image is then appeared at the top of the post obscuring the date box, etc. I saw in another forum that the feature image has to be long and skinny, so using the feature image won't really work for me. I removed the feature image, but it's still showing up in my post (blocking the date, etc.) and I don't know what else to do to get rid of it. Can you help with this?
Also, I'd like to be able to add images to my posts that show up in the preview, below the top / date box area. Is there a fix for the feature image blocking the date box on wordpress.com? Will I need the custom upgrade to take care of it? If I get the custom upgrade on wordpress.com can I manipulate the code to get the image to appear ONLY in my post? Is is the same snippet of code used earlier in this thread?
Thanks!

And you cannot use code snippets on wp.com, they do not allow it.
