Hi,
I am a newbie with a couple of snags with the Metric theme, I hope someone can help please?
First off, my static homepage is not appearing with the same layout as the rest of the pages, and I can't understand why.
Contrast http://www.wirralgreendeal.co.uk/thextons/
with
http://www.wirralgreendeal.co.uk/thextons/?page_id=186 which is what I need the home page to display like. What haven't I done to make the display uniform?
Also, I need the header background and the footer to be green, can anyone advise on how to make these changes please?
Many thanks in anticipation of your help.
February 4, 2013 at 6:17 am #17799AnitaKeymasterThe home page is set up differently that the internal pages. If you want the home page to look like the internal pages, you need to go to Reading > Settings and make one of your pages a Static page.
You can change your header background and footer colors in your Style.css sheet. Look for the color codes in #header and #footer. Both areas may contain a background image that you will need to remove and replace with the color of your choice.
For further instruction on setting up your theme - log in to my.studiopress.com and go here - http://my.studiopress.com/setup/metric-theme/ which is where the Setup Instructions are located.

February 4, 2013 at 6:54 am #17810neilduttonMemberThanks, I appreciate your response.
What's frustrating me though is that I do already have the static page set-up, but it is appearing as shown in the links in the first post.
February 4, 2013 at 7:24 am #17818AnitaKeymasterWhat page did you set under Reading > Settings? What is the page name or ID?

February 4, 2013 at 7:30 am #17819neilduttonMemberHi, I set up the page "Welcome to Wirral Green Deal" as the static home page, ID is http://www.wirralgreendeal.co.uk/thextons/
February 4, 2013 at 7:45 am #17821AnitaKeymasterSomething isn't right because your main URL - http://www.wirralgreendeal.co.uk is not pointing to a Page. It looks like you added the Welcome page to a widget area. What did you select under menu settings Settings > Reading??

February 4, 2013 at 7:52 am #17822neilduttonMemberI clicked the radio button to select a static page and chose Welcome to Wirral Green Deal as the front page. There is no content on thee page yet though, justt the tile.
Might this be my problem as well http://www.studiopress.community/topic/replace-metric-home-page-with-internal-page/
February 4, 2013 at 7:57 am #17825AnitaKeymasterI can say for sure. Did you follow Susan's instructions on that link? You might want to go back to the original settings and work your way through it again because something is really not right in there.

February 4, 2013 at 8:09 am #17828neilduttonMemberNot tried yet, but I will now! Do I rename the home.php as she suggests via ftp on my server?
February 4, 2013 at 8:14 am #17829AnitaKeymasterWhatever directions she gave you, follow them. And yes on the server.
