Hello
I have been trying to change the default footer credits in the Outreach Theme but not having much success.
I have Genesis Simple Hooks plugin and am using the info found here: http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/footer/#credits
but I want to retain the "TOP"arrow/link and just want footer credits edited.
When I attempt to use it it doesn't work.
Any ideas?
Thank you
December 26, 2012 at 8:00 pm #7610AnitaKeymasterInstall the Genesis Simple Edits - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-simple-edits/ and you can customize that area.

December 26, 2012 at 8:43 pm #7613IanPParticipantIt works and aligns left if I use the code fro this page: http://www.studiopress.com/plugins/simple-hooks
but it still removed the Outreach Themes TOP arrow that I want to retain.
December 26, 2012 at 8:45 pm #7614IanPParticipantThanks anitac I'll try that.
December 26, 2012 at 8:46 pm #7615AnitaKeymasterWith the Simple Edits, you don't need to use the Hooks.

December 26, 2012 at 8:49 pm #7616IanPParticipantok that completely broke ALL footer information. I won't be using that Simple Edits. Thanks anyway anitac.
December 26, 2012 at 8:52 pm #7617IanPParticipantIf anyone knows how to edited the footer credits ONLY, (I want to keep the themes custom TOP arrow) that would be great.
Thank you.
December 26, 2012 at 8:53 pm #7618AnitaKeymasterIt shouldn't have broken it. Did you remove any hooks you added?

December 26, 2012 at 8:56 pm #7619IanPParticipantYes.
I removed both Simple Edits and Simple Hooks plugin and it is now at the themes defaults.
It is a tricky one because Outreach has a custom TOP arrow that I want to keep, but want to change the CREDITS ONLY.
December 26, 2012 at 8:58 pm #7621AnitaKeymasterCan you post a link to your site so I can see it?

December 26, 2012 at 9:06 pm #7626AnitaKeymasterI just installed Outreach. Now since you removed hooks, go back and activate the Simple EDITS. Only edit the line that says, "Footer Credits Text" . Do not edit the box that says,"Footer Output". You don't want to modify the entire footer - you only want the Credits. If you do this - the arrows will stay there.
***Correction*** Activate Simple Edits.

December 26, 2012 at 9:07 pm #7627IanPParticipantThank you I'll go try that. Thank you kindly again anitac
December 26, 2012 at 9:07 pm #7628AnitaKeymasterSorry*** Correction*** Simple EDITS.

December 26, 2012 at 9:14 pm #7629IanPParticipantActually, I'm not following what you say. I can't see “Footer Credits Text” or a box that says,”Footer Output“ anywhere in the Footer Hooks area or Genesis Simple Hooks.
December 26, 2012 at 9:16 pm #7631AnitaKeymasterI made a correction above - it should have read **Simple EDITS**. Use the Simple Edits. My apologies.

December 26, 2012 at 9:19 pm #7632IanPParticipantOkay... I'll give that a go.
December 26, 2012 at 9:48 pm #7637IanPParticipantShortcodes? I'm not sure how to manipulate/customise these for my purposes. Am I limited to shortcodes or can I put in something like:
<p>Copyright &
copy
; <?php
echo
date
(
'Y'
); ?> · <a href=
"http://www.studiopress.com/themes/genesis"
title=
"Genesis Theme Framework"
>Genesis Theme Framework</a> by <a href=
"http://www.studiopress.com/"
>StudioPress</a> · <a href=
"http://wordpress.org/"
title=
"WordPress"
>WordPress</a> · <?php wp_loginout(); ?></p>
BTW the settings page for Genesis Simple Edits has a dead link to "more comprehensive shortcode usage guide"
December 26, 2012 at 9:50 pm #7639AnitaKeymasterNo it doesn't have to be shortcodes - you can put anything you want in there. I use Edits on my client sites when I modify it to include a linkback to my site. So you can add what you want. As for the dead link, you might email the developer on that.

December 26, 2012 at 9:53 pm #7640IanPParticipantOkay it half works.
