Hi All,
I have just moved my blog to Genesis Framework+Eleven 40 child theme. I have below serious issues. Hope someone will resolve it soon.1) I received this message from Google Webmaster "Googlebot can't access your site
Over the last 24 hours, Googlebot encountered 3 errors while attempting to access your robots.txt. To ensure that we didn't crawl any pages listed in that file, we postponed our crawl. Your site's overall robots.txt error rate is 100.0%.". What is the issue and how to resolve it?
2) I want to change the colour of header with blue. How to do it?
3) Want to add tag line below blog name on header. How to add that?
4) Move my Primary navigation menu to header. How to do that?
5) While I land on home page, I am able to view the google custom search and google feedburner mail subscription in sidebar top. But both will dissapear when I land to certain posts. What is the reason?
6) I am currently using All in one SEO plugin. I tried to install the plugin called SEO data transfer. But unable to do. It is showing zero data transferred. What to do? How to move from All in one SEO to Genesis SEO?
7) On home page, my latest posts are showing column wise, but i want them on row wise. How to do that?
8) How to insert Privacy policy and Copyright and disclaimer pages into footer area? I inserted them using widget. But they are sitting on left side of footer, which I want them in middle.
9) I don't want to show the Framework and child theme I am using. How to do that?Please let me know how to do all these settings at the earliest. I am desperately looking at help from someone.

I'm not sure of the answer to this one, but I would recommend putting in a support ticket for some direction.An observation before I answer the rest of these - have you read the set-up instructions? The answers to a lot of these questions are in there:

2) I want to change the colour of header with blue. How to do it? Dashboard > Genesis > Theme Settings > Color Style > Select blue from the drop-down
3) Want to add tag line below blog name on header. How to add that? Dashboard > Settings > General Settings
4) Move my Primary navigation menu to header. How to do that? This theme uses a custom menu in the header right. Dashboard > Appearance > Menus > Create a new menu
5) While I land on home page, I am able to view the google custom search and google feedburner mail subscription in sidebar top. But both will dissapear when I land to certain posts. What is the reason?
Do you have your sidebar set on those posts? I'm not seeing an issue, so can you please let me know which posts you are having the issue with.
6) I am currently using All in one SEO plugin. I tried to install the plugin called SEO data transfer. But unable to do. It is showing zero data transferred. What to do? How to move from All in one SEO to Genesis SEO? If you do not have an SEO plugin activated, you will be automatically using Genesis SEO
7) On home page, my latest posts are showing column wise, but i want them on row wise. How to do that? You can FTP to your hosting site, and rename your home.php file to something else. You home page will then before a regular blog page without a grid loop.
8) How to insert Privacy policy and Copyright and disclaimer pages into footer area? I inserted them using widget. But they are sitting on left side of footer, which I want them in middle. If you want them in the middle, put them in Footer 2.
9) I don’t want to show the Framework and child theme I am using. How to do that? You can rename the child theme. http://www.digitalredeye.com/wordpress/how-to-rename-genesis-child-theme
August 24, 2013 at 11:11 pm #58669basuniveshMemberSusan Thanks for your reply. But I have few doubts again on the same issue.
1) I received this message from Google Webmaster “Googlebot can’t access your site
Over the last 24 hours, Googlebot encountered 3 errors while attempting to access your robots.txt. To ensure that we didn’t crawl any pages listed in that file, we postponed our crawl. Your site’s overall robots.txt error rate is 100.0%.”. What is the issue and how to resolve it?
Answer-I think it was due to transfering the data from All in One SEO to Genesis. I did the transfer using the plugin SEO data transfer. But I have not deactivated the All in One SEO. Once I did that automatically Genesis SEO with all old values started to show. So I think this issue will get resolved itself.2) I did the same what you said above. But HTML links are only showing in blue but not the header. It is as usual showing black itself.
3) If I add the tag line, then it is showing below header but above Blog title. I want that to be below blog title.
4) I created the Menu and I set it in primary navigation menu. But I want that to be next to blog title but not below of that.5) It is resolved itself once I activated Genesis SEO.
6) This issue also resolved itself.
7) I am unable how to do that. Can you help me in this regard?
8) If I move my menu to Footer 2 area, then I am unable to view that on site. What may be the problem?
9) Thanks I will try to do the same.
August 25, 2013 at 6:43 am #58711SusanModerator2) I did the same what you said above. But HTML links are only showing in blue but not the header. It is as usual showing black itself. Sorry - I thought you meant you wanted the blue theme. The black background in the header is actually an image. Look for this in your theme's image folder, and delete it, or remove it from line 874 of your stylesheet:
.site-header {
background: url(images/texture.png);
min-height: 65px;
position: fixed;
width: 100%;
z-index: 999;
}3) If I add the tag line, then it is showing below header but above Blog title. I want that to be below blog title. Then you will need to go into your functions.php file, and remove this:
//* Reposition the site description
remove_action( 'genesis_site_description', 'genesis_seo_site_description' );
add_action( 'genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap', 'genesis_seo_site_description' );4) I created the Menu and I set it in primary navigation menu. But I want that to be next to blog title but not below of that. It doesn't go in the primary navigation menu - you need to add it to the Header Right widget area.
7) I am unable how to do that. Can you help me in this regard? If you are not comfortable doing that, then you need to find someone who is, or hire a developer.
8) If I move my menu to Footer 2 area, then I am unable to view that on site. What may be the problem? Add test content to all areas of the footer widgets. It sounds like you need something in Footer 2 to enable it to work.
August 25, 2013 at 10:02 am #58729basuniveshMember2) Deleting the code will actually change the colour or what? It will delete the background. But how it can change my selected colour of "blue"?
3) I did what you said, instead tag below blog name, it actually enlarged header such high that even unable to view the post headlines. So instead of solving the problem it created the problem.
4) Perfect this time, actually I tried it but at that time I was able to see header menu one below the other. But no problem. Thanks 🙂
7) As of now I set as full text of my rencet image. So once I am comfortable then I will try this 🙂
8) Yes you are right. When I created seperate menus for each page and placed in Footer 1 and Footer 2 areas then able to view the both. But I need some help in placing them next to Copyright 2011-13. Is it possible to do that?August 25, 2013 at 10:08 am #58730SusanModerator2) Sorry, deleting the image will remove the image. You can upload another image in it's place, or replace the line in the stylesheet with a font-color.
3) without seeing it on your site, I cannot provide much further direction.
8) If you want Privacy and Copyright to appear in the middle, you need to put them both in Footer 2. Add something else in Footer 1, (try and empty text widget) - or add the links to the bottom of the site, where the other copyright information is contained, using the footer code snippet, or installing the simple edits plugin.
August 25, 2013 at 10:32 am #58732basuniveshMember2) Thanks I will do it.
3) As of now I think I am comfortable with what is appearing on page. So don't want to alter it.
8) How to add the code to Simple edits plugin? Can you elaborate on the same? I need to add both the pages "Privacy Policy" and "Copyright and Disclaimer". Please help me how and where to add the codes?August 25, 2013 at 10:58 am #58734basuniveshMember8) I did it and it is working fine. Thanks for your wonderful support Susan 🙂
