Hello. I followed the instructions here: https://prettydarncute.com/2012/05/how-to-add-a-signature-to-your-wordpress-blog-posts/ an added a signature to the bottom of my posts....you can see my sig in here: http://www.crystalssweetlife.com/2015/06/how-do-you-get-your-mail/. My problem is, I want the signature to display before the related content and social icons. What would I add to the code in functions to make that happen?
Thanks 🙂

Try using 'genesis_entry_content' instead of 'genesis_entry_footer' and experimenting with changing the priority number as needed to position it exactly where you want. The priority number controls where in the entry content area it will show. The number needs to be greater than that used by the related posts and share plugin.// Add Signature Image after single post add_action('genesis_entry_content', 'custom_include_signature', 20); < -- start with 20 and adjust until where you want it. function custom_include_signature() { if(is_single()) { ?> <img src=" Url Here" alt="Signature" /> <?php }}

You can then use the genesis_entry_footer hook with the earliest priority or the_content filter to hook in your signature.
Also, prettydarncute.com do offer support and would be the best option for questions relating to their themes.

I went back and forth changing from genesis_entry_content and genesis_entry_footer, I even tried genesis_after_entry. I changed the priority number from 1 all the way to 20, but at no time was my signature before the social media icons and related posts. This seemed like a simple fix but I've been at it all afternoon.
@Brad, I understand everything with hooks. The diagram on the link makes it real easy to understand, but when you say:"You will need to move the social icons and related posts down one hook or increase the 3rd parameter for priority for positioning if they include a filter to do so."
How the heck do I do that? I looked in my function file but I can't find anything related to social icons and related posts. I use Jetpack for the social icons and YARPP plugin for related posts.
Sorry to be a pain in the butt. 🙂 This web design stuff sure is a learning experience.

I also tested the genesis_entry_content hook and it doesn't enable you to hook in before Jetpack and YARPP both of which include a function call which enables you to manually hook both in using any Genesis or WordPress hook. Once you do that, you can then hook in your signature using genesis_entry_footer
More about the 3rd parameter

I don't know why I didn't think of it: Add my signature at the end of my post when I'm writing them up. It's a png image. It works.
I do want to figure out how to add it with code and get the it in the correct place with the social icons and related post, but I need more time process it all. I'm going on holiday in a week and I won't have access to internet, so I just want to get everything set up. 🙂
Thanks Brad and Jackie for all the info and for taking the time from your Saturday to help. 🙂

That way its easy to remove if needed.
June 28, 2015 at 7:18 am #157731SusanModeratorThe problem with adding the image manually as you write each post is that it's labor intensive.
Here's a tutorial which will add it before related posts, and social sharing.
