There must have been an update and now I can't seem to resize my custom header.
Originally it was 960x110 - I've been tweaking it every couple months now w/seasonal headers only on the stylesheet. Then I'd have the {awesome} option of either cropping it smaller or publishing it w/o to my easy tweaked settings. Now I only have the option to crop it and even though I've tweaked the normal numbers the height on the header won't shrink down despite saving the file to the new size which I want to be 960x130.
What on earth am I forgetting to do this time? Why won't the header shrink down like normal? This was SUCH an easy thing to do before. Here is what I have only changed in the past. Thanks in advance - http://www.roastedbeanz.com.
/* Header
------------------------------------------------------------ */#header {
height: 130px;
margin: 0 auto;
padding: 0;
width: 960px;
}/* Image Header - Partial Width
------------------------------------------------------------ */.header-image #title-area,
.header-image #title,
.header-image #title a {
display: block;
float: left;
height: 130px;
margin: 0;
overflow: hidden;
padding: 0;
text-indent: -9999px;
width: 230px;
}
February 20, 2013 at 5:10 am #21613Sridhar KatakamParticipantPresently background of #header is http://www.roastedbeanz.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Header1.png which is 200px tall.
What is the URL of your resized (130px high) image?
February 20, 2013 at 9:02 am #21651RoastedBeanzMemberYes. The current header is 960x200. I completely removed it prior to changing the header stylesheet as above and uploading the new header at 960x130.
I don't have a url for the header image since I'm not loading it until after the header is resized. Otherwise it looks ridiculous. I need to shrink the header size down to 130px prior to loading it. And for some reason, what has always worked before isn't resizing it now.
Ideas?
February 20, 2013 at 9:27 am #21665Sridhar KatakamParticipant1) Upload resized image (960 x130) to Media library by going to Media -> Add New. Copy the generated URL.
2) Add the following sample CSS code at the end of child theme's style.css (WP dashboard -> Appearance -> Editor):
#header {
background: url("http://www.roastedbeanz.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Header2.png") no-repeat;
height: 130px;
}where http://www.roastedbeanz.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Header2.png is the URL of header image.
February 20, 2013 at 10:03 am #21676RoastedBeanzMemberThank you. I see what your doing. And will keep it in mind.
But I change my header all the time. I really need to find out what that latest update did that is holding the previous size in memory. 🙂
