Hi guys
Would appreciate any feedback, especially from anyone with a Windows machine (Mac user here) who can show/tell me how a test site I’ve been working on this afternoon looks.
The theme is a combination of eleven40 which provides the sticky responsive menu and title bar that I’ve been wanting for a project for some time and the widgeted homepage from the Magazine theme because I’ve found the standard eleven40 grid too limited for my eventual purpose.
I’ve also swapped out the site description from eleven40 and replaced it with a banner ad but I find that when the site is sized down in the browser the ad vanishes under the nav bar – if anyone has any advice on how to stop that I’d be really appreciative.
And any general tidying up hints – such as how to make the form button the side bar full-width or how to make the widget titles site on top of the widgets rather than within them – would be very welcome.
(PS, apols - posted this in the wrong areas originally)
http://beyondego.co.ukHello,
Looking pretty good. A minor suggestion, and this is just to my eye, but the black sticky bar clashes with your blue widget titles. The footer being black is ok, but the top seems rather harsh / not to flow organically into the site. Perhaps consider using the blue or a harmonious colour in the top bar and footer, but not sure. Overall looking quite good!
I have to agree, the use of pure #000 black color on the header doesn't really work. It actually very rarely does. I would recommend changing to a really dark grey or dark blue, even if you can hardly notice the difference (like #222 for example), it's easier on the eye when it isn't pure.
I love helping creative entrepreneurs build epic things with WP & Genesis.
Thanks - I wasn't sure about the pure black either and your comments helped convince me to drop it.
I've switched to a dark grey #3D3D3D which softens it considerably.
