I'm designing a new site using Altitude Pro. I want it to have a similar look to another site I designed so to make it easier I copied teh style.css file to the new site by doing a copy and paste in the editor.
I see the code is there but it's not taking affect - it's still using some default settings. For example the header background is still black when it should be a green
color. This is what I have under site header...background-color: #b8ceb7;
Also I notice the spacing is different - it's not wide like the original site. I'm attaching a pic so you can see.
Any idea what's going on and how I can fix it? I'm using Visual Composer plugin as the page editor.
Here's a link to an image so you can see what I mean.

August 19, 2018 at 10:46 am #222611AnitaKeymasterIf you have copied the code from another theme to Altitude Pro, you need to replace the IDs and CLASSES in the CSS to match those of Altitude Pro. Just copy/pasting the code will not work. For example, if the header in your other site says .other-site-header and Altitude Pro has .new-site-header - where ever you have .other-site-header needs to be replaced with .new-site-header. Most code is not interchangeable in that manner except in some cases if you are switching from one Genesis Child Theme to another.

Or move it directly to the stylesheet. If you've left the default code in there, then just pasting in new code won't override it. You'll need to either remove it or update it.

August 19, 2018 at 1:14 pm #222620snatal8MemberI deleted all of the code in the style.cs file , copied the whole style.css file from my first site and pasted it into this new one.
August 19, 2018 at 1:57 pm #222621AnitaKeymasterYou probably should get everything set up on the target site because I see some of the colors there but no content. Why not just copy your theme from the one site over to the new site? Just download the theme and use it on the new site?

August 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm #222622AnitaKeymasterOr better yet, just use All in One Migration, grab a copy of the entire site and then use All in One Migration to install on the new site. It's just making a complete copy. Then you won't have to fuss with anything.

August 19, 2018 at 6:00 pm #222625AnitaKeymasterIt's a WordPress plugin in the repository. Install it. Export it, then download. Install AIO on the new site and import the file. You will have a complete copy of the other website. Or, go to the other website copy the theme and then install just the theme on your new site.
