Hi,
Currently I am in the process of updating/editing The 411 template. I have few questions...
Q: How can I customize the home page? I would like to show only one, the newest quote post. And position it at the top, after the 'welcome message.'?

March 5, 2014 at 12:11 pm #93546artbahMemberThe quote is not in a widget.
It's stand alone post -- as a Quote Format.March 5, 2014 at 12:12 pm #93547AnitaKeymasterOh, okay. I just installed it and I am working with it. Give me a few more minutes.

March 5, 2014 at 12:36 pm #93549AnitaKeymasterDo you know how to add a widget area? I added one right under the Welcome message. Do you need the code?

I prefer to explore other solution(s). I appreciate your replies.

March 7, 2014 at 8:37 am #93828artbahMemberHi,
I am unclear about your question.
If you are referring images, Social Icons, on the right-side of the page? The instructions are on the theme setup.
If I misunderstood, please be more descriptive and I will do my best to help.
Have a great day!
ArthurMarch 7, 2014 at 2:05 pm #93860FrankSMemberHi Arthur,
Under the The Community(button) you have a different background picture, that was my question how you fix that.
I can upload 1 picture in the background option, not two or three.
So i hope you understand it now 🙂
Thmx for you answer

March 7, 2014 at 2:24 pm #93864artbahMemberHi,
You need to install this (Custom Background Extended) plugin.
It will give you the option to be post/page specific. Like...
I hope this helps,

March 9, 2014 at 1:18 pm #94073artbahMemberHi,
- Install Genesis Latest Tweets.
- In Genesis Extender (paid) plugin,
- create a widget and
- hooked with genesis_after_loop and
- style it with css.
Cheers,
ArthurMarch 10, 2014 at 1:30 am #94132gregsimasMemberArthur,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I would think that for a theme designer the Genesis Extender will work well but I am Genesis theme user. I hack a lot on Genesis themes but i am not working on multiple sights so don't think I should make the investment ---- unless the Genesis Extender is that good!
You're thoughts about theme users purchasing the Genesis Extender?
Thanks,
GregMarch 10, 2014 at 7:33 am #94157artbahMemberHi,
Honestly, to purchase and or use the plugin is pure luxury. You can achieve everything you need the old fashion way, working files with codes.
You need to hook the twitter feed to a portion of your design layout. This tutorial is a good start.
Putting 'theme users' classification, if you are serious coder that is committed to work with Genesis Framework, small investment is well worth it.
Cheers,
Arthur -
