Hi,
Does anyone know if you can use the wpbakery Visual Composer Front End Builder with Genesis Child Themes? I ask because I have seen some generic posts on other web sites saying that the VC front end builder may not work with all theme suppliers.
I have read every thread on this forum that talks about Visual Composer, and would be highly interested in any additional comments regarding its use with Genesis Child Themes. Successful? Problems?
Thanks much!
Dan

I haven't done it, as I have no need for that. But I believe people do use this with Genesis.Whether you're using it with Genesis or something else, be aware that if you change themes, as I recall, you'll have to keep Visual Composer running - if not, you'll end up with pages full of dead shortcodes. So once you're in with VC, you're "all in" - to remove it, you'd have a big clean-up job. WYSIWYG is always tempting, but there are invariably some hidden costs.
Chris Lema's blog has several Posts mentioning VC (not with Genesis, though), and I'd recommend you check those out. Here's one:

November 26, 2014 at 8:32 am #132867David ChuParticipantAbout SEO, that's really tough to answer. SEO newbies, I'm afraid, seem to want instant search engine results. At least everyone I talk to. If someone makes their whole site with no professional help, and has not learned anything about SEO, it's probably not going to be great.
To put it another way, whether using VC or not, SEO will depend on the content that's on the site, how it's arranged, and some techie factors. If someone is steadfastly unwilling to get professional help, they can try the Yoast plugin, and its "knowledge" may make up some of the gap.

November 26, 2014 at 9:25 am #132874RVLifeMemberThanks David and anotherusername. While I have over 10 years of SEO experience with my web site, I have no experience with SEO using WordPress or Genesis. Does anyone have anything to share that is SEO specific to WordPress or Genesis? That is, are there any unique SEO aspects of WordPress or Genesis?
