Hey Guys,
I'm writing this to let you know about a new WordPress project that we have started recently. We created a WordPress product testing platform call 'DIY with WP'. There anyone can easily create test site inside our network to try out various free and premium WordPress products before they decides to implement those in their live web site. I think this can be particularly helpful for buyers of WordPress products because now they can actually try out the product before they decide to purchase. This will help WordPress users to make better purchase decisions. The site is free to use and always will be. Anyone can request WordPress plugin or theme that they like to test drive by sending us a mail or posting in our DIYwithWP Facebook group.
Our goal is to create a Test drive facility for almost all popular wordpress products in a one central location. This way user has a way to know how different wp products are interacting with each other EX: It allows to identify Plugin or theme conflicts.
A user can also use this site as a place to get WordPress training. There are many WordPress tutorials out there in the form of videos and blog posts so anyone can create a test site inside our network and use this as their WordPress learning environment.

Hope you found this site helpful.
Thanks.

Here's one way Genesis community can use this site: http://demo.diywithwp.com/genesis1/ - site is an example of how 'Divi Builder' by Elegant Themes work with StudioPress 'Genesis framework'. This is a Divi builder layout pack released by Elegant Themes recently. As you can see the layout works great on a Genesis Child Theme. Likewise you can check how different plugins work with Genesis before you decide to implement that plugin into your live site.

If you ever remove anything DIVI related, you'll find that it leaves behind all of its shortcodes embedded in your content. You either have to manually edit all of your content to remove them or clean up your content programmatically. https://victorfont.com/remove-divi-shortcodes-changing-themes/

It's not just shortcodes, they introduced visual builder feature about 6 months ago. They are still trying to resolve bugs with that release. That being said they have a community of people (mostly designers) who make a living with it so I appreciate their effort on making web design such easy process.
What do you think is the best page builder to use with Genesis? Beaver builder?
January 15, 2017 at 10:24 pm #199451Victor FontModeratorIf you must use a page builder, then Beaver Builder is highly regarded. It's expensive though. Actually, you could use any page builder that doesn't insert shortcodes into the content. I don't use page builders because the generated code is often bloated and inefficient.
