Andrea RennickMemberThis is a perfect question for the help desk. 🙂 The theme does this out of the box with the archive settings.

Andrea RennickMemberThat is honestly the most gracious apology I have ever seen. 🙂 That was a nice start to my Monday.

Andrea RennickMember"where do I go to get good quick support"
*Official* support is in the help desk. When you are logged in to http://my.studiopress.com/ click the large "Get Help" link on the right menu.
Note we do not give out custom code in help desk and sometimes you will be directed to the forums here.

Andrea RennickMemberIf you are hosted at wordpress.COM, support is given over there, as there are some differences.
http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/
And you cannot use code snippets on wp.com, they do not allow it.

March 26, 2013 at 7:40 am in reply to: Agentpress – When will it finally be responsive? An unhappy customer :-( #31299Andrea RennickMemberIt is on our list, and it will be done at some point.
The theme was created back before responsiveness was a new standard. We will get to it, and you are entitled to the update when it does become responsive. We do not have a timeline for it however. I can't say that it will be done by X date.
Trust me - I answer this question almost daily in the help desk. 🙂 There's a huge list of themes to work on.
You are also free to use a plugin to handle the mobile aspect.
p.s. - The Agentpress conference has very little to do with the current theme. Also the conference was two days, so it's over. 🙂
p.p.s - Anita meant the Listings plugin can be used with any theme, including the responsive ones. 😉

Andrea RennickMemberIt's not the child theme - you're on 1.8.2 of Genesis.
Please upgrade and the menu will be magically fixed.

Andrea RennickMemberYeah, I was going mad too. 😀 Gotta wait for both since I just found and verified it today.

Andrea RennickMemberOkay, I see what happened. We rolled in a minor update for a menu bug in Chrome and it hosed the menus. :-/

Andrea RennickMemberDisable all your plugins too please. THe css for the default menu styling is there in the theme.
For some reason it's being ignored and I can see you have a caching plugin running, which really should be turned off when you set up a new theme.

Andrea RennickMemberYou don't need any classes added out of the box. No code to make it look like the demo, as always. Remove whatever code you added so I can see it.
This should be a help desk ticket rather than a forum thread, as it deals with the theme out of the box - not making custom changes.

Andrea RennickMemberActually, we did use the primary nav slot as well - it's just hidden on the home page.
On my messy test site, it works exactly as shown.

Andrea RennickMemberAs outlined in the instructions:
http://my.studiopress.com/setup/modern-portfolio-theme/
we used a custom menu widget in the header right widget area.

Andrea RennickMemberOn the demo site, we did not use the primary or secondary nav menus at all.
If you do wish to, you can take the css from Genesis and paste it in the style sheet for Modern Portfolio.

Andrea RennickMemberThis theme has code in the functions.php file that adds the featured image above the post.
Remove that code from functions.php instead of hiding it with css.

Andrea RennickMemberNo, I'm saying you *can't*. 😉 There is none.
You need to switch it with the primary nav, or unregister the secondary nav and add your own.
You can;t add hooks. You *use* hooks. The core framework provides the hooks for your use.

Andrea RennickMemberThe secondary nav menu has no hook on the right side to add anything.

Andrea RennickMemberThere's a setting to add a search box on the nav bar that is built in.
Go to Genesis -> Settings -> Navigataion. Enable the nav extras. pick the search box from the drop down.

Andrea RennickMemberAmy - out of the box the theme should not need any theme css changes.
The extra menu class was not for styling horizontally. That should work out of the box. It did work as expected in my tests.
If a new copy is not doing that, then we need to know.
The class for the above was for the jump links on the menus.
