March 10, 2013 at 6:18 am in reply to: Home Page and Posts page confussion with responsive slider #25288AnitaKeymasterYou've configured it incorrectly.
1. There is no need to create a blank page called Home. In the Menu area, there is a default custom Home already assigned to the home (your domain name). Remove the Home page.
2. Go back and remove the static home page. Select the top button.
3. Go to the Widget Areas and drag the slider to Home Top. Then drag a Featured Posts widget under it - in the Category select your News category.
That's it.

AnitaKeymasterI would need to see your actual code that you put inside the Hook to determine where you need it.

AnitaKeymasterYou need to add a conditional tag to tell it "home only" in your code.
<tt><span class="external text">is_home()</span></tt>

AnitaKeymasterHi Emilio, after reviewing your site in IE, Firefox and Chrome - it seems the Search Box doesn't show up on the Home Page only. If you go to any other page on your site - the Search Box appears. I installed the theme myself on my hostĀ and I don't have this problem. I also reviewed the functions.php and the home.php files and cannot see where this would be turned off only on the home page. I think you should put in a ticket with Support on this issue. When you submit the ticket, make sure you tell them we posted on here and provide the link to this forum discussion.
In addition to the Jetpack plugin, what other plugins have you installed? You might want to deactivate them one at a time and check to see if the problem still exists. It possibly could be a plugin conflict.

AnitaKeymasterDid you make any adjustments to the width of the theme? If you look at the bottom of your style.css, you will see your Media Queries. You may need to add CSS for those two devices.

AnitaKeymasterWhere do you have it place? What area because I am using Firefox and I don't see it.

AnitaKeymasterYou're welcome. I see the ibeyondtheveil.org site is ASP. You should still be able to put keywords in there. I see a few but not many.

AnitaKeymaster@rogerp it looks good. Like Brad stated, the paragraphs need to be broken down a bit. You could use the Column Classes and create two columns to fill up the space and to break it up.

AnitaKeymasterThe Jetpack plugin has a featured called Photon - http://jetpack.me/support/photon/, which states "your images will be served dynamically from theĀ global WordPress.com cloud". You connect your self-hosted site to WordPress.com. I love Jetpack.
