One other note... you get all new themes when they come to at no additional cost (excluding Marketplace themes). You may like a new one that comes out and want to change.

AnitaKeymasterIf you decide to do more websites or like elements from more than one theme - the Pro Plus package is the way to go.

March 2, 2013 at 11:36 am in reply to: Outreach Theme: Replace Slider Widget with 2 Widget Areas #23771AnitaKeymasterThanks Brad. I think I might try my hand at the first option you gave to see if that will work. I know I'll probably have to copy the CSS over as well. If I can't get it to work, then I'll move on to one of the other options.

March 2, 2013 at 9:58 am in reply to: Education Theme: Categories in 3rd column footer not looking good on mobile dev #23756AnitaKeymasterI just looked on my Android and you're right. But I also notice that the top right custom menu is not centering or adjusting to the phones width - the text is going off the right side. I think that might be what's confusing that widget area.

AnitaKeymasterI don't see anything overlapping? I see the two test widgets right before the footer area.

AnitaKeymasterWhat does your home file look like? Did you add those to the same DIV or did you create a new DIV below the existing one?

AnitaKeymaster@TonyVT, what I suggest to my clients is that they find 3-5 websites that they like and admire and then look at the themes to see which one more closely matches one of those websites and then go from there. At least it will give you a visual of what you might want for yourself. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

AnitaKeymaster@jeff1979, the previous version of Genesis prior to 1.9 had its own Child Theme called Sample. I think if you email support and ask them for the PRE-Genesis 1.9 Sample.zip file, and you load it - that will help you. It pretty much was like the Framework except it had additional files in it. If you still need some help, I'd be glad to take a look at it for you.

AnitaKeymasterOkay, if you look at the Google link - this was first noted in December and it's still not fixed yet. Hopefully they will resolve it soon. I have the same problem.

AnitaKeymasterLooking at the code in Firebug - look for this:
.footer-widgets-1, .footer-widgets-2, .home-middle-left, .home-middle-left2, .sidebar-content #sidebar, .sidebar-sidebar-content #sidebar, #content, #content-sidebar-wrap, #footer .gototop, #sidebar-alt, #title-area { float: left; } .content-sidebar-sidebar #sidebar-alt, .footer-widgets-3, .home-middle-right, .home-middle-right2, .sidebar, .sidebar-content #content, .sidebar-content-sidebar #content-sidebar-wrap, .sidebar-sidebar-content #content, .sidebar-sidebar-content #content-sidebar-wrap, #footer .creds, #header .widget-area { float: right; }
See where the .home-middle-left, .home-middle-left2... is located. I believe you can add your new widgets to this same area. See the .content-sidebar-sidebar line? then see the .home-middle-right....
Just find locations in the style sheet like that - then add your own, i.e., .home-middle-left3 or left4... whatever names you gave your new areas.

AnitaKeymasterBy the way, the Cache version is still in Google - click here. You can do a copy/paste if it helps you to re-create the information. You need to hurry though because the cache version won't be there long.

AnitaKeymasterIf not, install this plugin called WP-Database Manager - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-dbmanager/. I used this on all of my sites and client sites. It's a great tool. This just backs up the database. Or you can use this one called "Complete Central WordPress Backup Plugin" - http://blackbirdi.com/2012/10/25/complete-central-backup-wordpress-plugin/. It's free.
I am kinda old hand...
* Go to Tools > Export > All contents and it will download the content to your hard drive. Then...
* Go to Genesis > Export > All content and download that
* Go to WP-DB Manager - and download the latest database
I save all three in a folder marked for that month. I know it's not a "one click" backup - but this is how I've done it for years!

AnitaKeymasterWhat browser are you using? I know this is a problem with Google Chrome. I sent in a ticket and this was the reply:
Chrome currently has a bug: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=166230. Remove the top margin from your menu ul.
Hope this helps.

March 2, 2013 at 7:54 am in reply to: All of a sudden Drop down menus not displaying in Magazine Child Theme? #23727AnitaKeymasterI used the social icons inside the Jetpack plugin. I actually use most of the features in the Jetpack.

AnitaKeymasterI tried Nick's Genesis Responsive Header plugin here, but it didn't work. This seems to be a problem for everyone - getting a logo or header to be responsive 🙁 .
