Did you add the slider as a widget to the page or did you use a shortcode?

AnitaKeymasterSheesh, I am so stumped. Did you view it before you deleted it from the Appearance> Header? Add that back, take a look and if it's still not right. Submit a ticket and reference the link to this forum. I am totally stumped!

AnitaKeymasterDo you see this in your Style.css? If so, replace the URL you see there with the URL of your header image. Then remove the header from Appearance > Header.
#header {
background: url("images/header.png") repeat-y scroll center center #090909;
margin: 0 auto;
min-height: 120px;
overflow: hidden;
}

AnitaKeymasterI can't for the life of me figure this out. But when I first looked at it - I changed the word Transparent to color code #000000. Add the image back in there and let me look again. Keep in mind that I think your image was wider than the header space also.

AnitaKeymasterDo you see this code in your Style.css? If so - remove it. When I remove it from Firefox - the header shows up by way of another line of code. Delete that.
#header {
background: url("") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
}

AnitaKeymasterBut I thought you said you used Dreamweaver to insert the header image?

AnitaKeymasterYes, because you labeled the SLIDER itself and not a particular image. The slider settings will allow you to add the number of images you want in the slider. Review it for the instructions.

AnitaKeymasterGo over to Appearance > header and REMOVE the image from there. I believe that's where the problem lies.

AnitaKeymasterThe only thing that I have seen personally that showed the IP address is the Who's Online widget, however - it doesn't save that information in the database. It's only there while they are browsing the site. And if Google isn't showing that information because of the privacy law, more than likely others have or will follow suit. Are you just trying to see where the people are hitting from? If so, I use the Jetpack plugin which is hooked up to WordPress.com. You sign up with them just to use the Jetpack. Most of the features can be seen using your Dashboard, but if you log directly into your account on WordPress.com - you can see all the hits and where they originated from all over the world.

AnitaKeymasterDid you use the the Header feature at all under Appearance > Header?

AnitaKeymasterYou would just add those featured pages to the slider. Then to place introductory text underneath the slider, create a page labeled Welcome - add your text, then:
1. Go to Widgets > Drag a Featured Page widget over to the slider widget area - place it under the slider widget
2. For that widget > Select the Welcome Page
3. Only add the CONTENT and nothing else. Only check the box to add the content.That should work for you.

AnitaKeymasterThe slider will have an (1) image only - pointing to (1) URL, correct? The text below it will be INTRODUCTORY or WELCOME TEXT to the site that does NOT point anywhere? Is this how you want it?

AnitaKeymasterHummmm, I wrote the instructions and your second message has confused me now. So you are saying that the image when clicked will not go to the content area you want below. The text below is all together different text - not associated directly to the slider image?

AnitaKeymasterWhen I go here - http://www.holidaysunique.co.za/ - the first thing I see is the slider. Are you saying that you want the CONTENT from the image you place in there - to be seen on the home page instead of them clicking the image and taken to another page?

AnitaKeymasterWould this work. Since you only have 5-6 pages to redirect, there is this plugin I use called Page Links To - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/page-links-to/. You install it, then go to each of the 5-6 pages, and add the URL that you want that page pointed to. I think since you don't have very many this might work for you.

AnitaKeymasterI am using Firebug to see it.
*** DELETED *** Previous message as the code didn't copy correctly.
It looks like you have two header images in there. When I remove this code - it appears correctly.
This is the first code I see in the CSS - line 31
#header {
background: url("http://theconvergencenc.com/wp-content/themes/outreach/images/header.png") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
}However, if you look at line 183, the #header code is there again. If you remove the one above, I believe this will resolve your issue.

AnitaKeymasterWell, if it were me, I would change the template to FULL WIDTH. Remove that Contact Us button because you can clearly see the Contact Us on the Navigation. Then you can make the slider the full with.
For the background, you could possibly wrap the slider code with a background image, but I am not quite sure how to do that - so I will defer that to someone.

December 31, 2012 at 2:35 am in reply to: MInimum Theme: Add LOGIN Widget on the front picture #8546AnitaKeymasterCarrie Dils was kind enough to write instructions on this yesterday. You can find it here - http://www.carriedils.com/text-overlay-image/2306.

AnitaKeymasterPlease post a link to your website so we can take a look at what you have so far.

AnitaKeymasterYou should be able to add a new widget area to place the slider in by following these instructions from Brian Gardener - http://www.briangardner.com/home-widget-area-eleven40/.
@kpgdimension you should post a separate forum question regarding your issue.
