@johnjames are you using the Footer tab under the Genesis Settings? They added that a few versions back. Don't use Simple Edits. Click Genesis > then Footer. If you don't see the Footer tab, then you have another Footer plugin installed that's replacing the new one.

January 24, 2020 at 9:30 am in reply to: Only have 7 posts on blog – Smart Passive Income Theme #496166AnitaKeymasterThat information is in your my.studiopress.com account here.
You need to set the number of posts, you need to use the parameter
&showposts=1
, change 1 to 7 to display 7 posts.

AnitaKeymaster@inadvertent I don't see a slider in Atomic Blocks. So look for a slider plugin that offers a
shortcode
for the slider and then you just add the Shortcode block, add the slider shortcode and then you're set. Or, you can use Ultimate Blocks with Atomic if you want and they have a slider.

AnitaKeymasterGenesis 3.0 changed how the blog page works by removing the blog template. See Changelog. Log in to your StudioPress account and the full instructions are there.
* In the Name field, enter or select query_args.
* In the Value field, enter cat=all. All posts from all categories will be displayed on the page.
* Click Add Custom Field to preserve your settings.I'd suggest logging into your StudioPress account and familiarize yourself with the tutorials and snippets they have there. A lot of very useful information there.

AnitaKeymaster@johnjames and @vidaevelyn this code
[footer_copyright before="Copyright "]
the "before means" to add anything you want before the copyright icon. So adding the word Copyright, will output the word Copyright. If you would like to add the first year you were in business to accompany the current year, which you should especially if your website has been up for a long time, you would write it out like this -
Copyright [footer_copyright first="2012"]
. The word Copyright would not be included in the shortcode. This is what it looks like on my site.

AnitaKeymasterWhat theme are you using? Are you trying to save in the Customizer or are you in the Widget area under Appearance > Widgets?

January 23, 2020 at 4:59 pm in reply to: Workaround for 'Content Character Limit' removing style? #496150AnitaKeymasterInstead of shortening the length, then all that needed to be done was to use the "More" tag. In Classic Editor there is the "More" button on the Kitchen Sink. If using the Block Editor, they could have split out their content into to Paragraph blocks and then inserted the "More" block in between them.

January 23, 2020 at 3:50 pm in reply to: Workaround for 'Content Character Limit' removing style? #496146AnitaKeymasterIf you are using "Content Character Limit" you should get the Read More link. If you are using "Excerpt" you will not get the Read More link.
Excerpt
Excerpt:Only a portion of the content of the post will be displayed. The excerpt is a teaser that shows the first 55 words of the post's content. All HTML tags and graphics are stripped from the excerpt’s content.
Content Limit
Content Limit:Only a portion of the content of the post will be displayed. This setting is similar to showing an excerpt, but you can define the exact number of characters displayed.
You can modify the Excerpt character limit by adding this to your functions file or custom function plugin.
//* Modify the length of post excerpts add_filter( 'excerpt_length', 'sp_excerpt_length' ); function sp_excerpt_length( $length ) { return 50; // pull first 50 words }

January 23, 2020 at 3:45 pm in reply to: Authority Pro Theme – adjust footer like the Studiopress Webpage #496145AnitaKeymasterThe full width footer widget is set to to 100%. If you like to add more than one widget in there, try using the Genesis Widget Column Classes plugin - https://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-widget-column-classes/. Just follow their instructions to implement it.

AnitaKeymasterThe image dimensions will be different for each theme you use. And each theme may or may not include a page builder "template". You should check the theme you are using and if you are unable to locate a page builder, you can inquire with the developer to see if they have one or who can provide one to you. You shouldn't really need a template for Atomic Blocks.

January 22, 2020 at 11:11 pm in reply to: Altitude Pro Theme – How Do I Edit The Sub Footer? #496118AnitaKeymasterGo to Genesis, Theme Settings, Footer. That was added in 3.0.

AnitaKeymasterSo for the conflict check, you can install the add-on to Site Health which will allow them to do a plugin check. It adds a "Troubleshooting" tab at the top to disable the plugins on the back end but leaves the site in tact on the front end for the site visitors.
I'd say if you do not want to fuss around with the plugin check just yet, install Classic Editor. Make it the default editor but check the option to "toggle" between Classic and Block. See if that helps.
On the Site Health Info Screen, by chance do you see a message about Rest API?

AnitaKeymasterA couple suggestions:
* Give an actual page link to a page giving the error message.
* Go to Tools > Site Health. Click the Info Tab and then Server. What PHP version are you on?
* If you are using the Classic Editor plugin, maybe switch that out to Disable Gutenberg plugin.
* Check to see if there's plugin conflict.

AnitaKeymaster@bslugnut Altitutde has one Footer Widget but it's not displayed. It's in the theme documentation though. And Essence Pro does not have the footer widgets, but a Footer CTA. I wrote a blog post on adding three footer widgets last August. I updated it earlier this month.

AnitaKeymasterCan you be specific in a few of the themes that are missing those things?
* Custom Menus was renamed by WordPress in the widget area to Navigation
* Featured Images is under the little "G" when you click that. If you don't see it, then you have to scroll down and look for the "Options" tab and then check the box.
* Some themes do not thread comments while others do. I think that is by design by the theme developer.
* Some Genesis themes have been designed without Footer Widgets on the Home Page but they exist on internal pages and posts.
* Custom Background I believe would be based on the theme.
Love coffee, chocolate and my Bella!
AnitaKeymasterYou do not need to reposition that. You create a new Menu for that area. Then drag over a Navigation widget and select the menu you want to be displayed there. More on WordPress Codex here.
