Looks good, but the fonts are a little small on my screen and when you hover on the menu the gray you used is too light, the text almost disappears. However it's very clean and nice.
blazestudios23MemberI figured out how to do it and plan on posting it on my own blog as soon as I get a little bit of time. Hopefully I can do it tomorrow.
I've got a backlog of how to blog posts I need to do. I plan on posting how to make things spin over hover with CSS3 and how to make text fade in with CSS3 as well.
blazestudios23MemberTom, why to you keep on just putting up links to a site that cost money to view content on? That's a bit annoying.
To answer the question, it could be done with CSS. I'm trying to put a video background in the spot. But the theme doesn't make it easy to do with short code from a plug-in I bought on code canyon, so I will just have to code it myself.
blazestudios23MemberOn all compliance testing I have done, Genesis have never caused errors. However as Mayur states, 90% of ADA compliance is what you put on the site.
So I would say that it is as safe to use Genesis as any other platform or static HTML framework that could be made.
Most of ADA compliance is proper tags, however there are a lot of fine points that may come up once every 10 websites that one must know. I recommend check this out:
http://www.w3.org/TR/WAI-WEBCONTENT/full-checklist.html
And using the WAVE: web accessibility evaluation tool, to validate your site (and that still is not the same as having someone walk through it with real accessibility tools)
blazestudios23MemberI highly recommend reading the SEO training material put out by studiopress on this web site:
Sign up is free and they have a lot of free ebooks.
Second I recommend reading this page and doing what it says:
https://yoast.com/articles/wordpress-seo/
The warning is referring to the fact that many SEO company will try to get your site to rank higher by building links on sites that google considers to be spam. Which may give you a quick jump in ranking, but will your site will sink back to where it was before, sink lower or may even be banned by google in some rare cases.
I quality content that copyblogger teaches you to build will do much to improve your search rankings and yeost is known as the top wordpress SEO specialist, he goes over all the technical aspects involved in setting up your site, in a fairly easy to understand way.
If you need anymore help I do white hat SEO for a living and can assist you.
blazestudios23Memberblazestudios23MemberNice, the layout is actually very similar to my site. Just everything else is different.
blazestudios23Memberblazestudios23MemberThe landing page is nice. If you really want to get nit picky I would recommend making the H tags a little bigger as they are too close in size to the text on the landing page, I normally make h1 tags a lot bigger so they draw peoples attention. But that's actually very minor.

It just does not seem like it is styled, looks like text just thrown in there, while the rest of your site is very nicely laid out on a grid. Fix that and your site will be perfect.
blazestudios23Memberblazestudios23MemberIt looks pretty good and you use color well. However there are a few points that stand out for me as well.
1. The Font is too small, especially on the menu, and the menu items need more spacing. You may need to remove an item to make it work.
2. This is actually far more important. There is no center of interest that draws in ones attention, i.e. a large element that lets one know where to start. I just scroll up and down, think, "That's nice" and leave. Something has to grab your attention, then there should be a logical progression of elements that pull ones eyes through the site and encourage one to read it.
blazestudios23MemberI don't think I've ever seen one. I don't think the landing page would be too hard, the main thing is setting up a calendar of events and some kind of feed on the homepage showing upcoming events.
A few years back I was looking for a good calendar of events and could never find one, but I would assume one has to exist now, I would be interested to know what you find.
But why not use something like Parallax? That would make a good landing page, with cool race images in the BG.
blazestudios23MemberI'm not sure what you mean. I think you are saying it wasn't working for you. It's possible the server was down or something like that. I don't even recall what hosting company they are using.
blazestudios23MemberMarch 16, 2014 at 12:03 am in reply to: New responsive site built with Dynamik – what do YOU think? #95092blazestudios23MemberLOL.
Personally I would not put side bars on the landing page at all, because you want people to get your message, not get distracted.
You can look at my site, I have no side bar on the landing page, but I have it on the most of the other pages. However it is very sedate.
blazestudios23MemberI personally use the Dynamic website builder, but I would think you would have to put this code in your js file for your theme:
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'custom_enqueue_scripts' ); /** * Enqueue an external Custom Javascript file to Dynamik Website Builder */ function custom_enqueue_scripts() { wp_enqueue_script( 'my-scripts', dynamik_get_stylesheet_location( 'url' ) . 'my-scripts.js', array( 'jquery' ), CHILD_THEME_VERSION, true ); }
However there still may be conflicting function names. You may have to rename several functions, which could get messy.
I'm about to do something similar in the next few days, so I will let you know how it goes.
I really want to make a portfolio like there's, that was cool. But I don't feel like replacing mine out as all I have to do is type a URL and it automatically takes a screenshot of the site and loads the image.
blazestudios23MemberI don't think the video schema is implemented, but yeost has made a video schema plug-in: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/video-seo/
It's not free though, but his plug-ins are really high quality and the best for SEO that I have found. I want to get it myself, but I only have 2 videos on my site so it doesn't seem worth it yet to me.
blazestudios23MemberMarch 14, 2014 at 9:57 pm in reply to: New responsive site built with Dynamik – what do YOU think? #94953blazestudios23MemberLooks pretty good. The only thing I would change would be to tone the colors in the sidebar down a little bit. The focus should be on your main content, but the sidebar competes with the content too much.
I'm a huge fan of Dynamik myself and have made about 50 sides with it.
