Hi there,
Try the Genesis Featured Widget Amplified plugin. Similar to the Featured Page widget, but it'll let you use custom post types. 🙂Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantYou're probably looking for the "post info" or post meta" sections in your CSS (Post Info generally covers your date or stuff right before the post, while Post Meta covers stuff that appears after posts).
Do you use Firebug? If not, here's a quick article on what it is and how to use it: http://www.studiopress.com/tips/using-firebug.htm.
Maybe a little weird at first but is MAGIC when it comes to helping you identify what CSS is behind a particular page element.

cdilsParticipantHi there,
Check around line 96 of your style.css file for this#header .widget-area {
width: 500px;
}That width there is overriding your sidebar width and removing it should do the trick!
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantIf you'd created any posts for the portfolio post type, then the post type would also need to be updated in the database.

cdilsParticipantHi there,
Sorry just getting an answer to you. You can edit the CSS for theme to be fixed width instead of full. There'll be a few tweaks to make sure it stays good for mobile, but that's it. No php required!Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantHi there,
Try installing Bill Erickson's Genesis Grid plugin and see if that'll do the trick! Once installed, you'll find settings for it under Genesis > Grid Loop.

cdilsParticipantHeya,
Try adding this to functions.php:
/** Add custom header support */
add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 960, 'height' => 100, ) );Of course, change the width/height to match your theme. That'll add an option called Header to the Genesis Menu where you can upload a logo.
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantAh, it may be hidden. If you look at the upper right hand corner of the post edit screen there's a little "Screen Options" tab. Make sure Layout Settings is checked.
If that doesn't work, send me a link to your site and I'll take a look.
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantHey there,
If it makes you feel any better, I just checked it on MBP retina 15" in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox and it looks great on the screen resize to me.:)
I could be totally wrong (I often am), but I don't think retina display would have an impact on your responsive CSS...

Carrie

cdilsParticipantHi there,
I think the Genesis Featured Posts widget has an option to offset posts by whatever number you specify. If it doesn't, try downloading the Genesis Featured Posts Amplified plugin - it definitely does!
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantIt's not available as a quick edit option. You'll need to Edit the post/page and it's on that screen.

cdilsParticipantHi there,
I couldn't get the link to your site to work, but most StudioPress themes have a "home" body class built in that you can target via CSS, so you could target your sidebar with something like:
.home .sidebar-content .blahblah
To check for sure, do a view source on your page and check the <body> tag near the top. You should see a class="home" or similar. Once you've confirmed it's there, you can go to town on your CSS. 🙂
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantHi there. For the page in question, just go to the post editor screen for that page and you'll find Layout Options settings and can set it to full width.
Then, go to Settings > Reading and choose "A static page" and select the page you desire. That's it!
Cheers,
Carrie

March 16, 2013 at 5:23 pm in reply to: Editing Featured Widget Info – This Time w/Image Links #28340cdilsParticipantIt's me again! Just a quick tip that if you're the first to respond to your own post it looks like an "answered" post. 🙂
Okay, let's see what we can do...
1. We need to hook in the post_meta above the title. Here's the code you'll want for that:
remove_action('genesis_after_post_content', 'genesis_post_meta');
add_action('genesis_before_post_title', 'genesis_post_meta');
If that get's you closer, but no cigar, try adding a higher priority to the action like this:add_action('genesis_before_post_title', 'genesis_post_meta', 5);
Looks like your site is down so I can't troubleshoot the CSS part, but try using Firebug to inspect the CSS in the browser so you can locate which style element you'll need to change. Or you could poke around your style.css file and find the part that styles the post meta. 🙂
2. I'm gonna call in the troops and see who knows the answer to this one.
3. To get rid of the categories, try adding this to functions.php (from http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/post-meta/#customize):
/** Customize the post meta function */
add_filter(
'genesis_post_meta'
,
'post_meta_filter'
);
function
post_meta_filter(
$post_meta
) {
if
( !is_page() ) {
   Â
$post_meta
=
'[post_tags before="Tagged: "]'
;
   Â
return
$post_meta
;
}}
As for the CSS, again it's hard to troubleshoot without seeing your site live. Post a follow-up when you can and I'll check it out.
Cheers,
Carrie
