Heya!
What do you mean by "text field of the post"? The post content area? Sorry I'm slow to understand and not being very helpful. π

cdilsParticipantOh, okay! Which plugin are you using to generate those share buttons? There should be settings for the plugin that allow you to disable the "via..." part. In other words, it's not an issue with your theme, it's an issue with your social sharing plugin. π

cdilsParticipantWhat's on line 22 of your functions.php file? Not sure if the lines/spacing are the same on the code pasted above, but try removing your empty echo ''; statements.

cdilsParticipantHi there,
I found this bit of code that should work if you drop it into your functions.php (Note, anytime you edit functions.php, be prepared to FTP in or otherwise access your file to quickly correct any errors, as a syntax error in the file will cause your site not to work).
function myFeedExcluder($query) {
if ($query->is_feed) {
$query->set('cat','-12'); //Change the category ID to be your category's ID
}
return $query;
}
add_filter('pre_get_posts','myFeedExcluder');
To get the ID of your category, just go to your Category page in your dashboard and hover your mouse over the desired category. Then, while the mouse is still hovered, look at the URL bar in the bottom of your browser and it will show the ID # in the string. πCarrie

cdilsParticipantHey there,
Find this in your theme's functions.php:
'rewrite' => array( 'slug' => 'portfolio' )
And change 'portfolio' to 'services'
That should do it!

You won't find these in your functions.php - you just need to add them. π

Are you working with a child theme or just editing the Genesis theme directly? It's not recommended that you edit the Genesis Framework. You can download the free Sample Theme if you want and edit that like crazy. π

February 21, 2013 at 5:40 pm in reply to: HELP! enews extended – "subscribe/go" button not displaying #22106cdilsParticipantHi Kimberly,
I'm not sure, but I think the widget won't display a "go" button until all the form action field is properly filled out in the widget settings. If that's not the answer, can you post a link to a page that's using the form as well as which mail service you're using (i.e. aweber, mailchimp, etc)?
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantLooks like a case of crazy quotes where the double-quotes inside your <script> tag are causing the problem. Try escaping those quotes like this:
if ( is_home() ) {
echo '<div id="page-title"><div class="wrap"><p>' . get_bloginfo( ‘description’ );
echo '<a class="page-title-button" href="<script type=\"text/javascript\" src=\"http://forms.aweber.com/form/66/838215466.js\"></script>"';
echo ( 'Subscribe Now', 'minimum' ) . '</a></p></div></div>';
}I didn't test the code, so proceed with care. π

cdilsParticipantDo a search for this in your style.css: .flex-control-nav li
If it already exists, just add this bit (no need to delete anything):
float: none;
If it doesn't exist, then add this entire block to style.css:
.flex-control-nav li {
float: none;
}

cdilsParticipantHi there,
I'm not sure about all your questions, but a couple of things for sure:
The theme is geared more for a single realtor and not a group where each agent has their own listings.
1) You'll only be able to integrate with a single IDX account
2) The Listings feature is independent of the IDX (these are the properties I'm personally listing), so for those you could have multiple listings with different agents associated with each listing. BUT, I think you'd have to customize the theme a bit as it's not intended out of the box to work that way.
Sorry I don't know all the answers. Have you seen this: http://www.agentpress.com. That might be a good place to ask questions.
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantHi,
Your sidebar is already at 325px, so you could just reduce the padding in order to fit your add.
Change the padding on this CSS element to be less:
.sidebar .widget-wrap

Carrie

Do you mean that the page doesn't load _at all_ or that it doesn't render properly?

cdilsParticipantHi,
I'm not aware of a slider that has that feature. Doesn't mean it's not out there - just haven't come across it. If it were me, I'd try talking the client out of it for reason that people's attention spans are limited and by the time the content fades in, a visitor's eyes have probably moved on. π
Cheers,
Carrie

cdilsParticipantI don't think the Metric theme uses the grid loop. Does it? If not, you'll need to include the function, before you can call it.
So this line if ( function_exists( ‘genesis_grid_loop’ ) ) will return false because the function doesn't exist.
If you don't want to install the grid loop code manually (http://www.billerickson.net/a-better-and-easier-grid-loop/), you could try using the Genesis Grid Loop plugin. Might save you creating/using a custom template altogether. π

cdilsParticipantHi Andu,
Are you setting up the home page per this how-to:
http://my.studiopress.com/setup/lifestyle-theme/
If so and you're getting duplicate featured images, try unchecking the Genesis > Theme Settings "include featured images".
If that doesn't do the trick then... have you added any custom code to the theme in functions.php or elsewhere? That could be the source of duplication.
Let me know if you're still having issues.

February 19, 2013 at 1:30 pm in reply to: Education theme – use the home widgets across the entire site #21403cdilsParticipantIf that theme is using home.php, you can pull the widget display code out of that and move it to functions.php instead. There will be some other mods to the code, but that's the basic idea.
Let me know if you're still working on this or need help.
