Thanks, Susan. Just the tutorial i was looking for, it's nearly working, in that the widget area is showing up in Appearence->Widgets, but not quite on the page ... I'll post a question there..
Many thanks
colkavParticipantThat worked perfectly, many thanks!
colkavParticipantThat worked perfectly. Thank you both so much!
Regards,
Colkav
colkavParticipantThat was easy, many thanks! It would be just perfect if i could just get it to align to the right. I've tried inspecting the css and can't see any elements to do with alignment. hmm....
colkavParticipantHI,
I'm trying to do the same, and align the secondary menu to the right. I tried the directions on the link suggested by Susan, but it comes out as a vertical list, as apposed to horizontal. At the end somebody commented on this, and the answer is either to create a custom page template, or use a Custom Menu Widget....
The Header Right widget area works fine to a degree, but it's within the header and, being picky, I'd like mine to be presented along one line, above the header, align to the right.
So I'm guessing it's one of two routes for me (sorry, I don't mean to hijack this thread...) :
1) to create a custom page template
2) create a widget area above the headerWith regards to option 2, would I be right to assume this requires adding some code to the functions.php? If so, would anyone know what that code might be?
BTW, the above mentioned article, very useful! Thanks!
colkavParticipantThanks for your reply, idavinder. I tried as you suggested:
I created / placed an image called 'logo.png' inside the child/images folder.
Replaced the code in style.css under
/* Image Header - Partial Width
with what you suggested.
------------------------------------------------------------ */I tried with that
pre
you've included at the beginning, and without it.The path , I've used images/logo.png. However, I haven't managed to get it working.
Is this a different method to that suggested in the tutorial, How to set up the custom header function, here , or is it dependent on this? (I've updated functions.php to reflect the new path, images/logo.png).
Thanks
colkavParticipantThanks Susan, that's the answer / encouragement i was looking for. I'll read , digest, and will be back, i'm sure.
colkavParticipantOk, was a dumb question. Realising i need to read the tutorials, and get into code! Apologies
