One more issue I'm having on this site - As you can see, I've increased the header image to full-width (1140px). I've uploaded the various smaller images for Genesis Responsive Header, but it's not changing them out when I narrow the browser.
cyberinfinityMemberForgot to follow my own thread :/ Now I am 🙂
cyberinfinityMemberI've got the content resizing, I just needed to set #inner to a width of 100% in the media query. I also and added a line there to change the blue/red background to a solid blue when it gets small enough to send the sidebar to the bottom.
Using the header-right menu it looks great, both on my phone and just narrowing my browser:
http://pennsylvaniamalpractice.com.php53-5.ord1-1.websitetestlink.com/But with the secondary menu, even with a plug-in to resize the header image, it's not quite right:
http://www.lowabram.com/We're running that first one by the client to see if they can live with it, meanwhile I'm still looking for a way to make the secondary menu responsive.
cyberinfinityMemberAh, I see. Switching to the header right menu, it's responding correctly, although the text/image in the content area still isn't, so there's still an issue there.
But, unfortunately, the client wants the full-width logo, with the menu under it, and I don't know that we're going to convince them otherwise. So, I think I'm going to need to find a way to make the secondary menu responsive.
Any suggestions?
cyberinfinityMemberThat makes sense, but I'm not sure which of my modifications broke it or what I need to change in the media queries.
(Sorry, I've never coded any responsive stuff myself, it's just happened magically 🙂 )
Most of my modifications are visual things like colors/borders/etc, but I have changed the widths of the content and sidebar (but the whole wrap), and changed sizes of the dropdown in the secondary menu,
Would that change my breakpoints for the media queries or what needs to happen at each of those sizes?
For example, I can size my browser all the way down to nothing, and the menu line-wraps, but never changes like in the demo. And, other than sending the sidebar to the bottom when it gets too small, nothing is resizing at any width, I just get a horizontal scroll.
cyberinfinityMemberOh that would be great, thanks for the tip!

cyberinfinityMemberDOH! I figured out what was going on.
Originally, the blog was a separate WP install from the rest of the site.
During that time, on the site, I had told it not to display page titles, and just entered what I wanted displayed as a <H2> header in the content of the page, so that I could make the post title itself a menu-friendly thing like "Divorce" instead of "Harrisburg Divorce and Family Law Attorneys." and not have to manually edit all the navigation labels in the menu.
When we consolidated, I just imported the blog posts to the other site. All (most?) of the blog posts have sections with headers/subtitles, and what we were seeing as an unlinked blog post title, was actually just the first of the section headers.
I removed the code hiding page titles, and now they're there and linked.
I'll have some work ahead of me changing all the page titles, removing the fake title, editing the nav label for a zillion pages, but that's just tedious, at least I know what I need to do.
cyberinfinityMemberWell, I found a solution. While googling "set blog page layout" I found a bit of code for functions.php to specific a layout for the blog page, if you want it different from the default, so I slapped that in there, told it to make it sidebar-content-sidebar, and there it is!
I'm sure it's not the "right" way to do it, but it works and the client will be happy because now their blog doesn't look all screwed up.
cyberinfinityMemberI thought I had. I also tried selecting "Default Layout set in Theme Settings" and it's still not showing that left sidebar.
However, I'm wondering if there's somewhere else that I've set it as content-sidebar, somehow, because even if I change that setting to something else, it still looks the same.
I tried making a new page called "Articles," setting the layout to sidebar-content-sidebar and making that the posts page, but that didn't help either.
What file is actually being used to make that posts page? Is it page_blog.php? Where do I find the actual place in the code that should be pulling that sidebar-alt?
I'm sorry, but I'm new to hooks, etc, so I'm really throw off by not being able to just open the file and see the code.
cyberinfinityMemberI thought that was / should be the default as well, but for some reason they're not, so I guess my question should be "how do I fix whatever I screwed up earlier, and make them linked again, like they should be" 🙂
cyberinfinityMemberHi, sorry I'm just now replying to this, I've been on vacation.
Yes, I'm still having the issue. I'd appreciate if you could do that, thanks!
Beth
cyberinfinityMemberYeah, Google doesn't seem to know anything about it either.
Thanks for trying.
cyberinfinityMembercyberinfinityMemberHey that worked! (more or less)
The theme is now showing (more or less) and the older posts are accessible.
I guess that's post.php that I'm seeing now? I'll start there in my search for the missing left sidebar.
Thanks so much for the help! Want to solve my menu mystery, too? 😉 (separate thread)
cyberinfinityMemberI was having trouble with it when set like that. I'm going to go set it back, and if you don't mind taking another look and letting me know if you have any idea what's causing that, I'd appreciate it.
cyberinfinityMemberYes, I do have it going to a static page with the template "blog." Is that only going to show the newest posts?
And actually, that had completely slipped my mind (doh!)
The reason I did that was because when I had it set to just show the newest posts as the home page, the theme / content weren't showing up on that page.
I had that problem on another site a while back, but only in Firefox and IE, and ended up starting over really  - backing up the data, reinstalling WP, reimporting the data, etc, and it fixed it.
That was a brand new site, so I didnt' mind doing that, but this is an established, live site.
Any idea why that would have been happening? If I can fix that issue, will the original issue be moot?
