Brad, thank you for taking a look at this. I just sent it over.
dreamscapeMemberBrad, et al.,
I implemented your changes, however Firebug shows something else is superseding the edits you had me make? With your suggested revisions, I saw a little movement (the tiled background image now is larger than before) however the image still doesn't take up the full header area, the header background is not yet black (090909) and resizing the browser window crushes the whole background image down instead of the background image staying fixed at 100%.I combed through the few pages of the child theme and cannot isolate where the first header call is being made. If I delete the header image using the Appearance>Header interface, the header graphic disappears and reappears as one would expect.
Any ideas?

dreamscapeMemberBrad,
Am I able to use the Simple Hooks plugin to set the header background color? Or to set a pattern? Or does that need to happen in a custom.css file? Even if I could turn that background color to black and remove the header image while keeping the logo, that could help.
dreamscapeMemberBrad, thank you for your response! Sorry for my delay. I neglected to check the email notification for this thread.
1. This is the code I pasted into the genesis_header hook field:
<img src="/wp-content/themes/outreach/images/blue/logo.png" alt="C E Pipeline Services logo" width="173" height="195">
2. No changes to the CSS, PHP or images beyond adding the following to the style.css:
#genesis-responsive-slider {
background-color: #000000!important;
border: 10px solid #EEEEEE!important;
margin: 0 auto;
padding: 10px;
position: relative;
}This was to center the slider because it wasn't centered when displayed in my 1280 x 1024 window.
3. I didn't have 'unhook genesis header' checked, but checking it showed no effect.
Thank you for any insight you can provide!
Matt
dreamscapeMemberP.S.- If it helps: http://www.cepipelineservices.com. Thank you!
dreamscapeMemberBrad, et al! Thank you! The Genesis Simple Hooks plugin got me ALMOST there. I now see a logo over the tiled background, however when I turn off "Show header text with your image." in the Appearance>Header area, the text goes away (good) but the header squashes down to a smaller format and the background around the image goes white.

dreamscapeMembertlcinwalden,
If you found the path, please share. I'm a little amazed at the lack of flexibility in the Outreach header area. Really? This is mobile responsive? We have to place a logo (173px x 195px), yet the template seems to insist on 1060px?? Which of course, squashes down into a tiny, barely readable format on a smartphone. This doesn't make sense!
I would like to keep the tiled background in the header. I just need to place the logo (a transparent PNG) in the upper left corner like most other templates allow you to do easily.
How do I do this? What steps do I take? If there is a thread that explains this thoroughly, what is the link?
Thanks in advance.
MattdreamscapeMemberAh well. Sometimes "community supported" works. Sometimes.. not so much.
Here's the fix. Add this to Genesis> Header and Footer Scripts> wp_head() field:
<style type="text/css">
.padder {padding:19px 24px 19px 19px;}
#LoginWithAjax td {background:none; border:none;}
div#subnav.item-list-tabs ul li.last {float:right;}
div.item-list-tabs ul li.feed a {padding-left:20px !important;}
div.item-list-tabs ul li.feed a:hover {background-color:none !important;}
#item-header h1,h2,h3,h4,h5 {clear:none;}
#item-body h1,h2,h3,h4,h5 {clear:none;}
</style>
<script type="text/javascript">
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
jQuery('body.group-home').removeClass('home');
});
</script>dreamscapeMemberbump
dreamscapeMemberThanks, Pinky. The Buddypress components were hidden for members only, which is why I initially sent the screen capture. Here's the link. The site isn't launched yet.

dreamscapeMemberThanks, John. Some points to clarify:
1. Add this code to WHICH functions.php? The one belonging to Genesis or the one belonging to eleven40?
2. Can you provide an example of how such styling would look? That code also goes into the functions.php file? Or somewhere else?
