You can do it with CSS - and that is the preferred safest way. If you just want to hide the text and don't care where it is hidden while no one can see it, use one of the following:
.blogtitle { display: none; }
Or, you could slide it about three feet off the page
.blogtitle { margin-left: -4000px; }
ericoahuMemberWell, to answer my own question because no one responded here. I found some plugins on wordpress.org that implement photoswipe. I still do not know if this is the most efficient route to go, but for my photography web site I didn't want the vanilla wordpress gallery.
If anyone has any advice or suggestions on using a gallery with Genesis I'm all ears.
ericoahuMemberThanks anitac.
Actually (I hate it when this happens) I figured out how to do it (I think without breaking anything). And no extra files need to be created.
In the page's edit screen, I added a custom body class.
Then, the css for the regular header:
#header { background-color: #fff; }
For the special page I add this:
.custom-body #header { background-color: #000; }
When I go to that special page, the header div's background is black, when I go anywhere else the header div's background is white. I'll keep experimenting to make sure stuff like floats work, but it seems to work so far with things that don't relate to other divs.
ericoahuMemberericoahuMemberThanks antic but unless I misread the suggested plugin's description that deals with images in the header, not changing things like classes and the actual structure of the header.
I do not use images in my header.
This plugin lets you specify a header image for each post, page, custom post type or archive page individually, from your default headers and custom headers.

In the future you wouldn't have to turn off comments every time you add a page.
Or you could just remove the comments part from a custom page.php.
