But the responsive-slider only lets you set up one slideshow, as far as I can tell by reading its description.
I'm trying to set up different slideshows for different pages. The various plugins seem to provide for that, but they don't work on my site. The site is still very much a work-in-progress, but its URL is http://goletapres.org/webgenesis
April 16, 2013 at 10:46 am in reply to: Pictures in gallery link to 404-not-found instead of picture #35767ernietammingaMemberWhen I create a Gallery in a Post in my Lifestyle-based website, the pictures show up in the post, but if I click on any picture I get a 404 Page Not Found. Is there a fix for this?
Looking more closely in my Media library, I now notice that if I hover over the thumbnails or the "view" link, the URL paths to the various pictures go all over the place... it's almost the case that no two images seem to reside in the same folder. ...BUT all the images that I uploaded until today do hotlink properly if I add them to a gallery. Weird URLs, but pointing to the right place. It's only today's uploads whose Gallery thumbnails get URLs pointing to the wrong location.
Very confusing...
The website is "in-progress", but its direct URL is: http://goletapres.org/webgenesis

I don't understand how that happened... but is there a way to correct whatever it is??
ernietammingaMemberI periodically download (copy via ftp) to my local machine the entire folder that contains my WPress installation.
Just yesterday I re-uploaded this folder so that I could "go back a few steps" on my WPress installation to a point before when I made some not-smart changes to the site structure. The restored (re-uploaded) installation worked just fine.
If there is any reason NOT to trust this method, I'd appreciate learning about it -- I'm very much in learning-mode myself here.
I don't really trust cloud-based backup, at least not as the ONLY backup of my site.
(just for info: I'm running the Genesis framework with the Lifestyle child theme)
ernietammingaMemberThank you. I'm giving that one a try. The features of the "pro" version look quite attractive, if I first have good luck with the free version.
ernietammingaMemberI just tried to post a reply and got a "Page Not Found" error when I clicked submit.
Something seems quite wrong here...
ernietammingaMemberDid you find any way to customize the header width?
The native width in the Outreach child is 1060x120, which is awfully wide for a site that might be visited on mobile devices.
And of course, if the device's width is less than that, then the header image is narrowed appropriately, but a lot of ugly blank whitespace gets inserted below it.If I'm not mistaken, having a narrower defined header width would prevent this extra-whitespace problem from happening, except on VERY narrow display devices.
...any way to customize the width??
