GabeMemberGood call, thanks Susan.
July 10, 2014 at 9:17 am in reply to: Improving the newsletter widget Genesis uses (Genesis eNews Extended) #113769GabeMemberI got a reply to this saying that the plugin actually is easy to use, but don't see it anymore, so maybe it was deleted. To that I suggest doing a Google search for something like "genesis enews extended mailchimp" to see how many tutorials there are just to get it to work with one of the most popular email marketing services. We wouldn't see so many tutorials if it were actually easy to use. If you're still in doubt, sit down and watch someone struggle with it for the first time.
For example, here's a 10 minute video on just how to set it up with MailChimp! Is that the experience we want new users to have? Should they have to watch a 10 minute video just to get their newsletter widget how it looked in the demo using the most popular email marketing provider? Or would a two-click integration using the API be a user experience?
The plugin developer has done a great job, but it's 2014 and we have API's now. Besides, usability issues like this are the responsibility of the framework developers that continue to use this feature as an essential part in so many of their themes.
Any thoughts on this?
I guess my real question is: Why not?
Thanks guys!
GabeGabeMemberSounds good, thanks for the quick response Nick.
GabeMemberAny updates on this?
April 3, 2013 at 12:32 am in reply to: Make Genesis settings page a submenu in the settings menu. #32787GabeMemberNevermind, I found a different work around. I'll mark this resolved.
GabeMemberThanks Marco. I gave it a shot and no luck, the message still shows. Until I can find a permanent way to disable the splash page, I'll just just get rid of the message manually. I appreciate your time.

GabeMemberThanks Marco. I looked there in my search, but I was unable to find any mention of the splash screen I'm trying to disable, specifically 'whats-new.php'. Is it called elsewhere else? I'm just looking for a 'remove_action' hook or something similar I can add to plugins or a functions.php and nothing stood out to me there. What am I missing?
