Hi it doesn't appear to be working for me. Other things are also not being picked up, not sure why. For example my locale is not showing as en_CA even though I have Canadian English set up on my blog (it shows as en_US). The authorship is also not working for some reason. Maybe it takes a few days to find all the changes?
Here is the pastebin: http://pastebin.com/Gyr2zEjD

joycegraceParticipantI don't now how to help with this one, but I can say a few things:
1) I really would recommend you don't try to split up your articles like this, it's not good for SEO.
2) I use TinyMCE Advanced and that has a page splitter-upper (using layman terms) that you can try. It won't be paginated though, it will just create a link to read more or go to the next page.
Sorry if this was not much help to you.

joycegraceParticipantHi, I'm also wondering how to get this right. I don't know if I understood the thread correctly, but it appears that Roadturn had code, and then Nick had code, and you're supposed to put the two together to the Rich Snippets Testing Tool to not show errors anymore? Or is it that we're only supposed to use Nick's code?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Curious also if Genesis will soon support rich snippets out of the box? That would help so much.

joycegraceParticipantIn my experience that is just a Facebook flaw. You can try increasing the pixel height of that box, it might help. But sometimes it will add another row of 'fans' or 'friends' and create the same problem. And sometimes it will go away, and sometimes it doesn't. It's weird. I don't know much about how to customize that Facebook box, only that I've experienced the same thing on other sites.

joycegraceParticipantYes I think you are right. We had some javascript issues that we tried to resolve recently and maybe that's when we lost that class or html. I will look into it more. thanks!

joycegraceParticipantHi, I'm not sure how you got in there in the first place, but if it is coded to be a nofollow then I would get rid of that in the code. Or it could be some other setting in your site, from a plugin or from the theme, causing all links to be nofollow. It's hard to say without digging deep into it.

joycegraceParticipantGlad to have been of help. You can mark as "resolved" now if you haven't already 🙂

Did you have something specific to ask further to that?

March 12, 2013 at 12:36 am in reply to: how to additional categories on Featured top right and left #25613joycegraceParticipantHave you tried just adding the Genesis Featured posts widgets under what you have now? You can put more than one widget in one widget area.
If you really want to create separate widget areas, you have to register new widget areas. There are code snippets on this site or on the web to help you do that in Genesis themes.

joycegraceParticipantHi, first of all, you need to link to your web site or no one can help you. We need to see what is going on on your actual site.
Second, did you also add the style sizing to the style.css in the child theme folder?
And did you regenerate thumbnails? You need to install a plugin called regenerate thumbnails and run that to see if that fixes the problem.

joycegraceParticipantThis has to do with the way the plugin is configured - you may need to set up authors for each testimonial to get it to display the testimonial name.
Or you have to conditionally get the author name not to appear on this custom post type.
Either way it's one of those situations where you are trying to get a plugin and a theme to work together and that can be tricky.
If I were you I would just try another testimonial plugin.

March 12, 2013 at 12:27 am in reply to: How to remove featured image on Minimum theme post page? #25610joycegraceParticipantFor question 1) - what theme is this? You might have to either remove something from your functions.php file or install Genesis Simple Hooks to get it not to display that top part (hopefully not the latter). If you can show what you have in your functions.php file it might help us figure it out.
For question 2) - are you using Genesis Featured Posts widget for this? If so, there is an option to display an image, and tells you the size to chose from. If you need a smaller size than what's available, you need to register a new thumb or featured image size, for which I'm sure there are code snippets to grab from on this site or on the web. You will need to insert that new image size code snippet into the functions.php file

joycegraceParticipantI'm not sure if this is your answer, but you can try uploading a square version of the image, or selecting a different sized featured image size in Genesis settings. The problem from what I can see is that you have a border radius of 50% on all four corners but the image itself is 300 x 200 pixels, so it is creating ovals instead of circles.
BUT - I don't know this theme well enough to be sure, it's just something you can try to troubleshoot. If it solves your problem, that's your answer, and you can let the community here know about it.

joycegraceParticipantCan you link to your site when posting these requests? It helps us help you tremendously.
Are you using WordPress Menus to set up your navigation?

joycegraceParticipantIt has a left margin of -30px
It appears to be in your stylesheet.
Try targeting this: #genesis-box to get rid of that left negative margin.

joycegraceParticipantIf you are trying to get a different name to appear, you need to edit this in "users." Enter your nickname, then from the dropdown you can select what you want to show publicly, and save.
If you want to remove the author name from your posts, install Genesis Simple Edits plugin, it will allow you to do this easily.
If you want to disable author based archives (probably a good idea from an SEO standpoint) install and activate WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin and click on the setting that allows you to do that.
Hope this helps.

joycegraceParticipantHi Jesse, the colour has already been assigned to your links site wide. I am not sure why it comes up black in IE, but IE is a non standards compliant browser, so there are lots of things that will show up weird in different versions of IE. I am on a mac so I can't help you there. You'd probably have to do some deeper troubleshooting, and find out which version of IE in particular it is happening on (it probably isn't happening on all versions).
By the way, I noticed your "click to continue" link is has a nofollow link rel on it. This is probably not the best idea for your SEO. Generally nofollow should be used on external links only BUT, overusing it is probably not that great for SEO nowadays either because it's not a 'natural' way of linking. I am pretty sure SEOmoz did a test on this if you want to look it up.

joycegraceParticipantIf you link to your site we can help you find the css that is controlling it. You should install firebug on firefox and learn how to use that, it's a big helper with these sorts of things.
