You could try setting the css tag:
.more-from-category a, a.more-link{}
to
display: none;

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberThanks - I have just created a backup and then had it delivered to Dropbox (which saves my hard drive!). I am going to set up a duff domain so that I can try to restore to see if it works ... will keep you posted.

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberThis has been great ... you're right - lots of different ways but I need to get my head round the restore procedure. Let's say that the domain hosting company I use crashes or goes bust. If I was to restore the files onto a different host provider then the database name and user details would change. Which files would I need to edit to get my wordpress site to work on the new server account?
Big thanks ... loving the responses

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberThanks for this - it would appear that the back-ups are a two-piece job:
1) Backing up the database (which "Better WP Security" appears to do) or otherwise exporting the database with phpMyAdmin
2) Backing up the config files via FTPIs this correct?
Thanks

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberHi Gordon
Excited to see a UK site. Â I like the look and feel and it's really easy to navigate. Â I also like the header too.
There's no favicon. Â I live in the sticks and have a really slow connection and find some of the images take a while to download
How's the SEO going with the site?

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberI'm with wp guy - the header image needs a bit of work and the main page is very long which may cause problems with mobile users. I like the overall look and feel and it is easy to navigate.
I did a search for 5+ bed properties and it seemed to take ages so I gave up.
Are you trying to cram in a little too much information on the main page?

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberThis reply has been marked as private.kategorgeousMemberI love this site, it looks so smooth (actually apart from the 'twitter/facebook/linked in links which take up a little too much space). I'm really impressed with your "search results" page. I want to create one just like that with the images and the "more" link. My search page has no images and also it says "Older posts" at the bottom when I really want it to say "older news" or "other" or something more meaningful. Would you be able to assist a little?

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberHuge thanks but ooh heavens that sounds a bit complicated! How about I make the site title blank in the settings and set up a heading with Simple Hooks?
Would you be able to send me the link to the site that you managed to achieve the two colour HTML effect? Thank you

I can tether my laptop to my mobile so I might try that for a bit but will have to watch my data usage!

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberI mean on my laptop.
I realise that the databases would be different but I would like to be able to work on the design and widgets and pages occasionally at places where there is no wi-fi (eg at my children's karate class!).
Does that make sense?
Thanks

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberI love the professional look but I have a slow internet connection and the large images took a little while to load - have they been optimised?

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrowkategorgeousMemberThanks for the quick response. At the moment (using the Platinum theme) on my website http://www.cathywilcoxtraining.com/ when I do a search then the results page comes up with all the information from the relevant pages (ie the entire page of data) rather than a snippet of information and a "more" link or something.
Also, if there are no results it says "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria" but I would prefer not to have the word posts there at all.
Which settings did you mean?
Thanks
Kate
