December 12, 2013 at 8:21 am in reply to: How to show single Woocommerce Product on Homepage? #78546kelmomMember
[product id="99"] (where 99 is the product id number) only pulled up the thumbnail and add-to-cart button. I needed the full product page.
So, I discovered there were two ways to go about this (both really easy).
1st -- plugin shortcode [product_page id="99"] -- this will give the FULL product page.
OR
in your home.php file insert this manual shortcode:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[product_page id="31"]'); ?>
You would be surprised how long it took me to get what was in reality a super simple answer! I think I was over-complicating things... because I couldn't find what I needed within the first few Google searches.

kelmomMemberBecause Jetpack will auto install tools that you may not need. This could slow down your site and/or be labor intensive on your server. At least, that has been my experience. 🙂

kelmomMemberHmmm... that's strange. I tried it out and it worked for me. Your site is offline at the moment. As soon as it is back online, I will take a look and troubleshoot. 🙂

kelmomMemberOh good! I'm so glad I could help! 🙂

kelmomMemberHmmm.... what about if you did something like this:
if( is_page($page) || is_front_page() )
echo ‘<div class=”home-banner”>Would that work? It's kind of like saying if page AND front page....

kelmomMemberHello!
The way the original nav is supposed to function with this theme is that it shows up upon slight scroll of the window. So, in order to get it to stay up at the top at all times, you will need to edit this file:
wp-content/themes/expose-pro/js/sticky-menu.js
Clear out the code and copy and paste this instead:
jQuery(function( $ ){
$(".nav-primary").fadeIn();
});Save the file.
Your nav will fade in on page load and will be visible at all times.
I hope this helps! 🙂

kelmomMemberHi Jen! The site is super cute! 🙂
How about using is_page instead?
Like this:
is_page($page);
This should get it to show up on all pages.
I hope this helps!

kelmomMemberYou can easily add a portfolio page template to any theme.
I have written half a dozen tutorials about how to do this which includes the code which is tested and works.
Okay? Well, of course there's always the DIY option. That's kind of a "no brainer" don't you think? There are dozens of tutorials out there on how to build a portfolio page in WordPress. However, if i'm going to add all of these extra things in, what do I need the Genesis theme for? I can work with the 2013 WordPress default.
I'm simply saying that it would be nice for Studiopress to offer something above the competition or shoot -- even something above what the standard default 2013 WordPress theme offers. I mean, even the default WordPress theme now has HTML5 and mobile-responsiveness built in.
My suggestions are not meant to be taken personally. I think every good company always strives to stay ahead of or at least with the curve in some way. Honest customer feedback is part of that process, right?
The team is obviously talented beyond belief. No question there.

kelmomMemberI definitely agree. The current designs aren't bad, they've just become a bit boring. The current design trend is "flat -- Windows 8" type design. It feels a bit overplayed to me. Also, would love to have more custom page templates included in the design-- like a portfolio, etc.
I've said it before and i'll say it again, if the designs kicked up a notch and additional features and functionality were added, I would gladly pay a yearly membership fee.

August 8, 2013 at 8:00 am in reply to: After Genesis 2.0 Update – Random itemscope="" Appearing #54883kelmomMemberIs there an open div or is the meta element closed as it should be --> /> ?
itemscope is an html5 element used with metadata.

kelmomMemberPerfect! Contact the customer service at Blue Host and tell them that your website is down. They should be able to get it back up and running for you. 🙂
~Kellie~
kelmomMemberTry :
span.comments .tags {
float: right;
}Does that do anything?
Individual pages or individual posts? Do you mean that if someone clicks on a post on the front page, then you don't want 'genesis_post_info' or 'post_info_filter' to show?
~Kellie~
kelmomMemberWhere are you hosting your site? Are you using shared hosting?
~Kellie~
kelmomMemberDid you clear your cache? Or do you have a caching plugin active while making changes? If you do, then it will be hard for you to see the changes you have made on your site because the site will reflect the cached page.
If you want, post your URL and I can help troubleshoot. 🙂
Here is the code that is making the double line separator between posts:
.post {
border-bottom: medium double #CCCCCC;
margin: 0 0 30px;
padding: 0 0 40px;
}Change border-bottom to : medium single #cccccc;
This will give you a single line in between the posts. 🙂

kelmomMemberHello 🙂
I tried clicking on that link earlier and just now but it is coming up "server not found". 🙁 I also double-checked with http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com to see if maybe it was just me... but they are reporting the site as down there as well.
~Kellie~
kelmomMemberDo you have a link to the site with the problem? I can take a look at it for you.
~Kellie~
kelmomMember1) To get the comments to be placed to the right, do the following:
span.comments { float:right; }
2) Iit looks like span.comments .tags has a background image that produces the line you see as a separator between author and comments.
span.comments .tags {
background: url("images/nav-line.png") no-repeat left center transparent;
}You could replace nav-line.png with another graphic that has a single line only. 🙂
3) Here is a plugin for related posts: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-23-related-posts-plugin/
You could change the "Related Posts" heading to "You May Also Like"
Hope this helps! 🙂

kelmomMemberHi Kary! 🙂
It looks like this is an issue with Gravity Forms. I took this from their faq page:
How do I get my form in the Gravity Forms widget to pass W3C validation?
The most common problem with validating form embedded in the Gravity Forms widget is the "document type does not allow element 'link' here" error.
Widget stylesheets are loaded inline and not in the page head. This is due to a limitation of the platform and the only way the widget has to enqueue the styles automatically.
You can disable the script output in the widget options but you'll have to make sure the Gravity Forms scripts are enqueued in your page elsewhere.
Documentation on properly enqueuing scripts is at located at the bottom of this page.
Here's a link to the page: http://www.gravityhelp.com/frequently-asked-questions/faq-general-questions/
The question is located in the middle.
I hope this helps!
Your site is great, by the way! 🙂

kelmomMemberSo cute! I love it! Great job!
My favorite thing is the navigation at the top. It looks completely original. 🙂
