Actually, I am working on a different site, but am running into the same issue.
Here is the live link to the site: http://wendyvandepoll.com/emc/
Kim TurcotteMemberOk - so I fixed the navigation bar and all I need help with now is the widget I added to the home page so that the background extends full width.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Kim TurcotteMemberThank you so much! This was really super helpful!
I am 90% where I need the site to be, just two more questions I am hoping someone can help with.
1st - I would like the navigation buttons to align right instead of left. I have tried everything I can think of and just can't get it to happen. The closest I got moved the tabs to the right, but the background disappeared.
2nd - I added a widget under the nav bar on the home page and on the internal pages. I want the background on both of them to extend full width. They appear to be coded the exact same way except the name of the widget and the background on the home page isn't showing, just the internal page. If someone would be willing to take a look at my coding to see if they spot something I did wrong, i'd be grateful.
Thanks in advance for your help!
KimKim TurcotteMemberThanks - I see what you mean.
I think I need to move the primary navigation outside of the site container, but I am not sure how to do this. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.
Kim TurcotteMemberMarcy,
Thanks so much! This did the trick!

September 11, 2014 at 12:08 pm in reply to: Lifestyle Pro – Making the Home-top widget Full width #123986Kim TurcotteMemberSo do I just create a new sidebar widget, register it via the functions file and then pull it into the front page template by using the genesis_after_header hook?
Sorry, I am somewhat familiar with code, but not a pro.
Thanks
Kim TurcotteMemberwould you just substitute subnav for nav if you want to remove the sub navigation or secondary navigation from the homepage only?

November 29, 2012 at 4:13 pm in reply to: How to Use the Genesis Grid Loop on Home Page of Lifestyle Theme #2399Kim TurcotteMemberAndrea,
I have 5 departments and normally I would use the featured widget amplified widget to bring content to the home page for each department. I still want to do that, I just want to be able to lay it out the way the grid loop does. For each department, I want to show one Feature on top with a larger image and more text, then four additional articles from the same department underneath in two columns with smaller images and less text.
What is the best way to do this? Is it via the Grid Loop and if so, how do I use the loop to show one department under the other ? Or is the best way to use the featured widget amplified and use styling to accomplish the look (not sure how I would do this)?
Any additional help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kim
Kim TurcotteMemberI am also looking to use the grid loop on the home page of the Lifestyle theme for the layout of content from different departments on my site, but if I change the home.php to the one listed in this tutorial, then I will lose the ability to have the different widgeted areas on the home page. Is there a way to do both?
