Thanks Victor, I have placed the header right into the widgets area and added the menu and social icons there. The menu and icons are stacked and I am also having trouble aligning to the right. I have tried everything I could find in the css for nav. I also edited the simple social icon plugin to align to the right.Thanks for your much needed help!
krystinaParticipantI tried that here in my test site: http://wow.the-creative-arcade.com
I'm having trouble getting it to look like it does here: http://www.dsmomentsblog.com
Thank you for your response Victor! I hope you can help me fine tune it 🙂
krystinaParticipantThat's weird I'm showing 188kb for all except one photo which is about 900kb. There is still no difference in the performance or loading. If it was the images then we should see some improvement at this point...
krystinaParticipantthanks victor - I just corrected that. Still having the same problem. no change.

krystinaParticipantThanks Dev, I've looked at the responsive test site and am unable to figure out code there.i got some help elsewhere for the white space issue and I am now having trouble with the footer widgets. see the 3 column footer at the bottom of my site on an iphone? not fitting properly. let me know if you know how to code that. any help would be great. thanks!
krystinaParticipantI have the header fixed thanks to Nick - the code:
#header {width: 70%;
padding: 0 15%;
}
goes in the responsive section. thanks Nick!
krystinaParticipanti love adobe illustrator - i used that and designed it myself. i do design headers and logos. starting at $75 if you're interested 🙂 i'm more of a designer than a coder, but i'm getting the hang of it.
krystinaParticipantWell, I figured it out myself - so if anyone is needing to do this its actually easier than I thought..
I removed the "unregister secondary menus" from the functions.php. Then in Menus I was able to add a secondary menu. It appeared immediately but needed styling. So I copied and pasted the primary menu css directly under itself - then changed all the "primary" to "secondary" then I changed "block" to "inline" because my buttons were to far below the header in block style 🙂
