MarcParticipant
Can't speak for an "official recommendation", but I have a couple dozen Genesis 1.8.2 sites that I have upgraded to WP 3.5 and experienced no problems what so ever. With the nice new features of WP 3.5 I would go for it.
Concur, I also miss the beta/road map type info/discussions from the old forum. (Twitter? really?)
MarcParticipantGlad it worked. And good input regarding the theme.
MarcParticipantYour path to the image is incorrect in the #title section. Either upload the banner image to the images folder and modify your path to use the images folder of the theme, or change the path to something like - url(wp-content/files/2012/12/Bass-HookUps-Logo480.png)
MarcParticipantThat is odd. Please paste your operating /* 03b – Header */ CSS code and I will look it over to learn what is happening.
MarcParticipantHere you go -

Or you can use this plugin -

MarcParticipantSeems like you have something that would probably work with what you started. e.g. -
#header {background: url("") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
What happened when you actually put an image in the background rule?
MarcParticipantHave you tried adding it as a background in the #header?
MarcParticipantI am not very familiar with Stretch so I am sure there is a more elegant way to do it, but the steps below get it started. You will of course need to edit to suit your site and header graphic.
Proof - http://resultzdigital.com/stretch-trial/
Actions -
Created a 180px by 48px transparent png image named stretch-header-image-trial.png
Uploaded it to the images folder of the stretch theme
Modified the Stretch /* 03b - Header */ CSS section as below:
#title {
background: url(images/stretch-header-image-trial.png) no-repeat;
background-color: #faea85;
height: 48px;
width: 180px;
line-height: 1;
margin: 0;
}#title a {
color: transparent;
display: block;
padding: 16px;
padding: 1rem;
}

Are you say this forum now has a plugin (or equivalent) for code and syntax post content capability? Or are you referring to switching to some other plugin, some day, when another is ready?
MarcParticipantWould it be acceptable and have you tried creating a new rule in the style-sheet for the title area and include your logo image?
MarcParticipantFor others, Bill Erickson's Genesis Title Toggle plugin works great! Easy selectivity on each and any page/post -

MarcParticipantMarcParticipant480K seems acceptable. Your "SQL backup" contains only text. No image files are backed up when you backup the db.

Perhaps the Admins could try that, rather than using Pastie or waiting for another plugin to be updated?
MarcParticipantHave you tried placing the MLS search in an iframe on your new site?
This may be helpful -

It has been a long time since AIO was as good, basically that was only before WordPress SEO was offered.
MarcParticipantYou can have the option of the sender selecting from different recipients in a single contact form with Contact Form 7. They have also resolved the security concerns well -
http://contactform7.com/selectable-recipient-with-pipes/You can also encode text email address which reduces the spam address harvesting any email addresses placed in a page/post with an encoder like this one -

MarcParticipantYou have Version 1 of the theme installed. V1 did not have multiple color schemes. The instructions you quote relate to Version 2, the current version.
MarcParticipantKevin, Email me at [email protected] and I will provide you site login credentials to the photographer's site if you want to explore differences as to why it is working there and not on yours.
MarcParticipantYes, exactly. The only deviation is to name the script "minimum-header-rotate.php"
