February 26, 2015 at 8:11 am in reply to: Add Widget Area or Shortcode above Post Page Title #142360mattsMemberThanks. I tried added a hook yesterday for this and ended up killing the site. Will give it a try again. I am totally new to hooks.
mattsMemberThanks for all your help. I am changing the header area now and moving things around a little to clean that up.
The font color on the menus is a pain. I can't (don't know how) to change each one individually. If I change the lower, the upper changes as well.
mattsMemberOh duh, yes I do. I was thinking it was shown somewhere else and just had a lightbulb go off.
mattsMemberI don't have a native gallery, I don't think. Have never seen one or the option.
mattsMemberStill having troubles resizing the the widget areas. Any suggestions?
mattsMemberThanks for the help. Here is the page
http://averageoutdoorsman.com/mattsMemberThanks. That did remove the other 3 widget areas. Now I am tweaking the CSS and trying to get the sizes to expand. Not much luck yet.
mattsMemberJust so I understand the htaccess redirect a little more, it will replace the primary url of every incoming link from oldsite.com/whatever to newsite.com/whatever? It's not going to just redirect all incoming links to just the home page?
So I am thinking to be safe, I should just do individual redirects on everything? Sounds like weeks of work.
mattsMemberI am not sure either. lol. Just in case I guess.
thanks for your help.
mattsMemberSo just add that Linux redirect to htaccess and I should be ok?
Can I do this and exclude one page? For instance, I would like to be able to view my Dashboard area on old site for reference if needed but everything else can be redirected.
mattsMemberBut if 98% of all my links are the same with just a different primary url, would I actually be safe with doing a full one time redirect?
mattsMemberI don't plan on giving up the old domain anytime soon. Not for many years anyway.
Do you think my best/easy option is to install a good redirection plugin on old site and just start individually adding the new links one by one?
mattsMemberThanks for the info. This scares me a bit. I really don't want to take some big steps backwards.
mattsMemberAny suggestions on how to make the tabs scroll?
mattsMemberOk, I need to figure this out on mine also. Did he do some work to the plugin or was it from that plugin he posted?
mattsMemberDid you ever figure this out?
mattsMemberThank You Andrea, That was my problem. Removed that plugin and its all good now.
