Just bumping this as I haven't had a response yet. Thanks!
February 28, 2014 at 4:01 pm in reply to: No Image Thumbnail Appears When Linking to Home Page #92877michaelapotterMemberThanks Davinder! I went the Yoast route and followed their tips here: https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-wordpress-seo-by-yoast/
Cheers,
MichaelamichaelapotterMemberPerfect! Thanks so much for your speedy replies Ryan!!
michaelapotterMemberThanks Ryan! That fixed the width of the subnav.
The code for the shadow that you shared is the same code that is in the style sheet already. Is there a way to set the width of that as well?
Cheers,
MichaelamichaelapotterMemberChecking in to see if anyone has thoughts on this issue.
Thanks!
MichaelamichaelapotterMemberOK - That removed the banner/ribbon but it also removed the post title. I still want that to appear on the responsive slider.
Thanks!
michaelapotterMemberThanks Brad. Where do I add the flexslider code? In the style.css?
michaelapotterMemberHi Brad. Just got around to trying out this solution. It actually removes the banner and ribbon from the posts that appear on the home page, which is not what I want. I just don't want the banner and ribbon to appear in the photos of the Genesis Responsive Slider.
Any other ideas?
Thanks!
MichaelamichaelapotterMemberThanks for your feedback Brad!
I actually don't want to remove the banner from the post itself - I just don't want it showing up in the Genesis Responsive Slider on the home page.
Would I need to change the code in the Slider files?
Cheers,
MichaelamichaelapotterMemberThanks Jesse! I did disable and deleted the mobile plug-in she had and after a day, the site is finally showing up on a mobile device as she would like. She actually wants the full site shown (it was just showing the top 5 posts), not how it would look like with a responsive theme, so thankfully this got worked out.
And after the redesign, the next thing I'm going to walk through with her is cleaning out her plugins!
Cheers,
MichaelamichaelapotterMemberThanks for your feedback Susan!
After I posted this, I noticed that on my phone, the site loads in mobile view (actually I need to give credit to my husband). If I scroll all the way to the bottom and choose "view full site", it does bring up the view I want. How can I get it to load full site first instead of mobile? Do you think that could still be a plug-in issue?
Cheers,
MichaelamichaelapotterMemberAs an added note, I went to see how the site responded in Responsinator and it showed up fine: http://www.responsinator.com/?url=monica-suma.com
My client has a lot of unnecessary plug-ins installed - could one of them be interrupting being able to see the site on a mobile device? It's fine on iPad.
Thanks again!
michaelapotterMemberHi Jesse! I've now tried two different responsive themes (outreach and magazine) and it's still not showing properly on a mobile device. http://www.monica-suma.com/
My client previously had installed the plug-in "WordPress Mobile Pack" and I've since deactivated it. Could that or something else be preventing the site from being responsive?
Thanks again for your help!
michaelapotterMemberThanks Jesse. Can you give me an idea on what that code may look like and where it should live? I'm checking out the stylesheets of other responsive themes for ideas.
I've also been checking out this post but not sure where I'm putting the code: http://www.studiopress.com/design/website-respond-mobile-devices.htm
Thanks again!
michaelapotterMember@daniel123 - I just installed it and it in fact 'recognizes' my favicon as the current favicon. However, browsers do not. Uploaded it again through the plug-in and still doesn't work. It's always these little things that get so frustrating. Thanks for your input though!
michaelapotterMember@Ipstenu - I realize that it is still showing the Genesis favicon which has me puzzled because I deleted it and replaced it with mine. When in my client's server, I can see that it is mine.
@daniel123 - That plug-in hasn't been updated in two years - is it compatible with the latest WordPress?
Thanks for your help!
