1. define WPLANG in wp-config.php has been depreciated. Remove it.
2. Not necessary. Remove.
3. Not necessary. Remove. The Genesis Translations plugin by Remkus works just fine, but the Eleven40 Pro has not been translated to German, see
http://translate.studiopress.com/projects/genesis-child-themesSo you need to translate Eleven40Pro and if you submit your translation to the Studiopress Translation Project it will be included included in the Genesis Translations plugin.
KonceptuelMemberIf your site is in german only the easiest way to translate Genesis is to install the by Remkus de Vries. It adopts your WP language settings and pulls in the latest Genesis translation.
Now, I don't know of any german translation of the Lifestyle Pro theme, but you do not necessarily need one, because there are no text strings in the Lifestyle Pro .pot file that will show up on the frontend of the website.
Example: On your blog, at the bottom of a post, there is the string "Filed Under".
It originates from the post.php file in the Genesis Framework.
Most likely your German translation of Genesis needs an update. See first paragraph above.KonceptuelMemberIf what you need is a website in one language (Dutch) the easiest way is to use the Genesis Translations plugin.
KonceptuelMemberHi Oria,
1) yes
2) You can use the Codestyling Localization and the Codestyling Localization Preserver plugins to translate strings.KonceptuelMemberHi Moni,
after saving the translation of a string you have to generate the .mo file.
I the first screenshot I can see the button is called "Gerar Arquivo .mo".
Pressing that button writes the changes you make to the translation file to the .mo file that WordPress reads.Have you synchronized the Genesis theme with the Child theme?
In the last screenshot of yours there is a button by the childtheme called "Sincronizar arquivos com tema pai"
Pressing that button synchonizes the Genesis language file with the childtheme language file.I don't know if you have this installed, but the Genesis Translation plugin could be of use to you. The plugin loads the Genesis translation according to the language defined in the wp-config.php file.
You should also be aware that some themes has more than one textdomain...!
And remember to flush your cache if you use a cache plugin. This proces shold work for you?
Install the Genesis Translation plugin.
Set WordPress Language to Brazillian.
Open Codestyle Localization.
Click the button "Sincronizar arquivos com tema pai"
Rescan the childtheme "Adicionar Idioma"
Make your changes to the childtheme translation file.
Press the button "Gerar Arquivo .mo".
Reload the frontend. The changes should kick in.Hope this helps 🙂
November 18, 2014 at 3:35 am in reply to: Translating read more string in the featured page widget #131963KonceptuelMemberThe easy solution is to install the WPML Widget: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpml-widgets/
Then you add a Featured Page widget per language and set the language for that widget.KonceptuelMemberHi Moni,
there is one (1) instance of "Leave a Comment" in the Genesis Framework.
there is one (1) instance of "Leave a Comment" in WordPress.
It is not in the Beautiful Pro child theme. The search function in Codestyle Localization is case-sensitive.
KonceptuelMemberHi,
The site looks like it is in one language only, Brazilian.
So I will advise you to use the plugins Codestyle Localization and Codestyle Localization Preserver for all your modifications to language files. That way they are upgrade safe.
The line of text you want to edit is probably in the Genesis Framework Translation or the WordPress translation.
Either way, the search function in Codestyle Localization makes it easy to find.KonceptuelMemberYou can use the Codestyle Localization and the Codestyle Localization Preserver plugins to translate the child theme.
Get them at wordpress.org.KonceptuelMemberThe WPML plugin. Can be purchased at wpml.org.
A free alternative could be Polylang https://wordpress.org/plugins/polylang/
Or the babble plugin http://babbleplugin.com/
KonceptuelMemberYou need the WPML Widget. Get it from WordPress.org.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpml-widgets/
Genesis Translations is not for multi-lingual sites. It translates Genesis to the language defined in wp-config if available.
KonceptuelMemberHey TCD,
when your content is translated you should be able to use the Widget Logic plugin.
Then you add a Featured Post (or page) widget for each language.
I it doesn't work you should take a look at the WPML plugin.KonceptuelMemberIf your website is in only one language and not english I suggest you use the Codestyle Localization plugin and the Codestyle Localization Preserver plugin (add-on).
If you are building a multi-lingual website you should take a look at WPML.org
KonceptuelMemberThe Babble plugin, WPML plugin, or maybe Marketpress plugin.
KonceptuelMemberAre you using a cache plugin?
If so, either flush your cache or disable it.KonceptuelMemberYou generate the .mo file from within Codestyle Localization.
KonceptuelMemberThe really short answer:
If you are ready to spend $79 the WPML plugin is the first option that comes to mind. For inspiration:
For content translation there is also the .
I haven't had at chance to test it out, but I believe it is approved for WordPress.com VIP.is the easiest solution if you need translations for Genesis.
The plugin Codestyle Localization and works great for translating themes and plugin. They do NOT create a muliti lingual website.
KonceptuelMemberKonceptuelMemberI recommend using the Genesis Translations plugin because it translates the framework to whatever language you have specified in the wp-config file. Unless your site is multilingual of course.
Sometimes the Read More link is hardcoded in the theme function file.
To translate strings in the theme you can use the Codestyle Localization and Codestyle Localization Preserver plugins. Then you don't have to edit the original files.KonceptuelMemberGenesis Translations plugin translates the Framework, not the child theme.
Some childthemes has strings that is not included or changes strings in the framework.
If that's the case here you need to edit the string in the child theme directly or use the Codestyle Localization and the Codestyle Localization Preserver plugins. -
