Thanks
PineWebMemberThat was exactly what I needed, thank you!
(especially the 'span' part)Roger
PineWebMemberIf you want text in the slider area, full width but with a nice margin...
Add:
.home-slider #HomePageText { margin: 40px; }
then wrap the text with:
<div id="HomePageText"> </div>
if you wanted that text to me more like the 1/3 width widgets then add code like:
width: 33.3333333333%; float: left;
and on 3rd widget across change left to right
But that means you would have to create widgets for the slider in the CSS also.
IMHO, it would be easier to add another widget under the slider and above Home Top - or, use Home Top if you can.
Hope that helps.
PineWebMemberIt only looks terrible because there are no margins, which I learned how to fix last night.
The trick is in CSS; not that hard if you have a basic understanding of CSS, which is all I have.
If you are interested I can post some snippets later, sort of busy right now.
PineWebMemberThanks
PineWebMemberHal,
I think all you would have to do is change the code referenced above by Christoph from 33.33333333333% to 50% and you would have it. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
An upgrade of Genesis would preserve your changes, an upgrade of Executive Pro would not.
(That's one thing I like about Thesis skins)
Document your changes (both in the code and outside the code) and be sure to make backups.
PineWebMemberRight, but if I change it then the other entries get changed too. That's why I was thinking I would create a separate one for the full width text.
I think I may have it figured out.
Genesis is much easier to work with than other themes I have used in the past.
thanks.
PineWebMemberFull width (1140 less margins)
I tried putting in a text widget but the CSS limits it to 33% so it shows up in a column instead of going across the screen.
thanks.
PineWebMemberI would like the ability to go full width with text. I learned I can do that with the bottom of the slider but the others it makes into narrow column.
thanks.
PineWebMemberfor H1 I found I had to change .entry-title
thanks!
PineWebMemberThanks! It didn't occur to me to try a text widget in the Slider area!
I did try a text widget under home -> top and it was only 1/3 the page wide.
thanks.
PineWebMemberThanks
PineWebMemberNo, never resolved. Still looking at Eleven40 plus a couple of others, but would love more feedback for a good review theme.
thanks.
PineWebMemberThanks for the reply Rob.
Was thinking I maybe I would get more replies...
