I am not using header images.
The only image I would use is a logo, instead of the title/description; but I'm trying not to use even a logo.
My preference is to use a title/description, but just a different title/description on the blog page and posts than I use on regular pages.
In other words, on blog pages there be title1/description1 and on other pages it would be title2/description2. On the right side of the header the menu would stay the same. There would be no background image.

It's OK if you want a full-width image, but I want either no image at all or just a small logo image to replace the title/tagline set. I want my main menu to remain in the right side of the header; and I don't want a large image to slow down my page load.
gallilawMemberI have the same problem: the theme I created using Dynamik Website Builder applies a default format to widgets in the primary sidebar (the right column). If I make a simple listing, the styling of the title and the list entries works without specifying any CSS in the widget option box. If I use a normal "recent posts" widget, that also uses the default format for the widget title and the items listed.
But if I use the Genesis - Featured Posts widget, it ignores the default formatting entirely and the style it does produce is unacceptably ugly.
How can I get the Genesis - Featured Posts widget to accept the default styling as the other widgets do?
I can't show the site because it is offline. Anyway, I don't want to write CSS code specially for the Genesis - Featured Posts widget when the best solution would be to make it apply the proper formatting automatically as the other widgets do.
Thanks!
gallilawMemberI figured it out. Instead of one area with two widgets inside I made two areas and styled them like so:
#recent_widget_area_left {
width: 45%;
float: left;
padding: 20px;
margin-bottom: 40px;
border-bottom: 5px solid #D9D9D9;
}#featured_widget_area_right{
width: 45%;
float: right;
padding: 20px;
margin-bottom: 40px;
border-bottom: 5px solid #D9D9D9;
