Thank you, Victor. You are always a fountain of information. I will check out the article and then determine my course of action.
Yes, you may
It was a conflict with autoptimize.
Weird thing is, the image shows on my phone, but not on the desktop.
Hmm, loads ok on Firefox, not Chrome. Must be a caching issue, although the staging site was via Chrome as well and it loaded just fine.
I'm still open to other suggestions.
Found "Simple Full Screen Background Image" and at least the right and left side of the image shows now and maybe that's as much as I can hope for.
I want it to fill the area that is currently gray. I can add it in Customize/Background, but it only shows the middle section of the image. Is that normal? I realize monitor sizes are different and it's probably not realistic to show the full height.
In fact, the upper left side of the image just gets repeated on the right side. I think I've used a plugin before. I'll go in search of it.
When I made the adjustments to enlarge the image header, it changed the mobile view. Now the header goes off the screen and the menu is messed up (I added some height so it would fill the space created.
Sadly I don't have much to work with. Hopefully they can find a better image.
The more interesting thing is that if I add a menu to Header Right, then the icons show, though the bottoms are cut off... and the menu doesn't show.
I provided a link to the home page which shows an image that says No Image and the words beneath it that say Lumber and Sheetgoods. The next is an image of a saw with the words Building Materials. The third is just the words Specialty Woods. I went those three images/captions to be in the same row. Ah, I must need to add a float.
Thank you! I love your tutorials. I opted to register a widget and not use the plugin.
Thank you so much! Do you have a method to remember these things, or is it because you work with it so much?
That looks great! I will keep it in mind.
Got it resolved. It was in the front-page.php from when I re-ordered the widgets.
I see that now, but how did it get there? I thought maybe it was the result of repositioning the widgets, but when I go back into front-page.php nothing I do makes a difference. Even putting the original code back in doesn't change anything. It's the only place I've done anything with HTML that I know of. Everything else has been done in css. Oh wait, when I entered the aWeber code into the eNews widget, I added a </div> at the end of the hidden section, as instructed in a video I watched. Another video didn't show picking that up in the code, so I removed it. Doesn't seem to make a difference either way.
I did manage to position the cta the way I want it by finagling things, but if the extra </div> is the issue, I would really like to get it resolved. Maybe doing so will resolve the other issue(s) I have later in the page.
I have three text widgets in the home-features widget area and they were lined up side-by-side.
Then I swapped home-features and home-portfolio and now the text widgets are not lined up. If I look in Firebug, it looks like the second and third text widgets got separated from the first text widget??
Oh, thank you Victor!
