Yes it is, and the best (rather, easiest) method to migrate is to use BackupBuddy, a premium plugin from iThemes (well worth the money to save you from the headaches).
wpsmithMemberYou will need to use the custom header functionality in WordPress (add
add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 960, 'height' => 100, 'textcolor' => '444', 'admin_header_callback' => 'minimum_admin_style' ) );
, or change the CSS for #title (#title:before and #title:after).
wpsmithMemberwpsmithMemberPlease do not post same post in more than forum. I apologize but this is posting this message twice, probably because I merge the two into one?
wpsmithMemberwpsmithMemberwpsmithMemberThis is actually a new feature of Genesis 1.9. Just fill out the user Google Plus information and it will do it for you.
January 7, 2013 at 11:18 pm in reply to: Using custom field and category to populate blog page #10277wpsmithMemberJen's post is accurate and a nice shortcut. You will need to create a page_blog.php and place that in your child theme. The current blog page template that is packaged in Genesis by default will not accomplish what you want. Another option would be to do this:
add_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'child_custom_introduction', 25 );
/**
* Add introduction content to page_blog.php template
*/
function child_custom_introduction() {
if ( is_page_template( 'page_blog.php' ) ) {
global $post;
echo apply_filters( 'the_content', $post->post_content );
}
}

wpsmithMemberI am assuming that the home page is being produced by a widget of some sort with content limit?? If this is the case, to add formatting by following this tutorial. For more information, please read Nick's Formating Explanations.
wpsmithMemberOk, this needs to be customized properly now in Genesis 1.9 instead of using the Grid Loop. The updated Grid Loop now takes the original WP Query and does not add to it fixing a couple bugs from Genesis 1.8.
To fix this, you need to follow the instructions here: http://www.billerickson.net/customize-the-wordpress-query/
So, something like this:
add_action( 'pre_get_posts', 'wps_limit_loop_to_cat' );
/**
* Limit Grid Loop to a Specific Category on a Specific Page
*
* @author Bill Erickson
* @author Travis Smith
* @link http://www.billerickson.net/customize-the-wordpress-query/
* @param object $query data
*
*/
function wps_limit_loop_to_cat( $query ) {
// To Limit it on a page, change $post_id
if( $query->is_main_query() && $query->is_home() ) {
$query->set( 'cat', '25' );
}
}
OR,
add_action( 'pre_get_posts', 'wps_limit_loop_to_cat' );
/**
* Limit Grid Loop to a Specific Category on a Specific Page
*
* @author Bill Erickson
* @author Travis Smith
* @link http://www.billerickson.net/customize-the-wordpress-query/
* @param object $query data
*
*/
function wps_limit_loop_to_cat( $query ) {
// To Limit it on a page, change $post_id
if( $query->is_main_query() && $query->is_page( $post_id ) ) {
$query->set( 'category_name', 'parent-category-iii' );
}}
wpsmithMemberYou need to install the sCategory Permalink plugin. Please let me know if it doesn't work. However, there is built-in support in the Breadcrumbs function/class for you to accomplish this with this plugin.
January 7, 2013 at 10:50 pm in reply to: WordPress 3.5 issues: Links, images and text feature #10273wpsmithMemberThis appears to be a WordPress 3.5 issue and could be related to how WP 3.5 redid their attachments and media UX. If you could, please record a Screenr on the process of what you are describing so we can better help you.
wpsmithMemberI am not sure I understand what you are asking? The Genesis Featured Widget Amplified enables you to accomplish the use of custom post types in widget areas. If you are asking for a custom approach then I recommend using the template hierarchy from WordPress. Or, if you do not mind, can you please elaborate a bit more on what you are trying to accomplish?
wpsmithMemberI apologize for the help ticket issues. Can you please create a new topic with your issue if your help ticket did not help?
wpsmithMemberIf your theme supports a custom header, then this option is obsolete. Genesis 1.9 clears this up to force people to do it correctly.
wpsmithMemberThis will work: https://gist.github.com/4455461
wpsmithMemberI would recommend the first approach. The site that I did this on has changed to an image logo since the launch of the site not worrying about the SEO of their site name.
So here's basically what I did:
add_filter( 'genesis_seo_title', 'wps_seo_title', 10, 3 );
/**
* Modify the Genesis SEO Title.
*
* @param string $title Default HTML title output.
* @param string $inside HTML blog name output.
* @param string $wrap h1 or p based on settings.
* @return string Modified HTML title output.
*/
function wps_seo_title( $title, $inside, $wrap ) {
return sprintf( '<h1 id="title"><span class="color1">%s</span><span class="color2">%s</span></h1>', 'text for color 1', 'text for color 2' );
}
wpsmithMemberYour CSS is off with your Header. You need to change the width of the widget-area.
#header .widget-area {
float: right;
padding: 10px 0 0 0;
width: 295px;
}
