Megalithe Theme

Megalithe was developed by ZigZagPress, and is a Community theme. These are not included in our Pro Plus package, but we assure you that the design and coding of them are top-notch.

Theme Features

The Megalithe child theme includes the following features: 10 color styles, 6 layout options, custom background, custom header, featured images, fixed width, mobile responsive, theme options, threaded comments.

Take the Megalithe theme for a test drive…

  1. Awesome Child Theme, wanting this.

  2. Exactly what I was looking for today! Thanks StudioPress & zigzagpress.

  3. Michael Hutchison :

That is a straight up amazing theme! Love the cleanness of it. Might pick this one up.

  4. Great theme! Was looking at this on the ZigZagPress website yesterday so it’s great to see that StudioPress has taken it on.

  5. This is going to be perfect for an upcoming project. The functionality is a step up a little from usual with the shortcodes, and the design is as excellent as always. Think gravity forms is missing on the contact page (heads up)

Great stuff – one of my top 5 of the moment,

  6. Don’t know how you guys keep coming up with a seemingly endless series of incredible themes. With a small increase in font size for the main content, this theme is a perfect minimalist site for businesses.

  7. Thanks for the kind words – it’s been fun for us to put these together. We’re trying to make them flexible, for things like font size in particular that can be tested (like Patrick pointed out, the font can be edited from inside the theme without touching the code). The feedback is helpful, though – thanks!

  8. The demo doesn’t work very well on my iPad3. I couldn’t get and blog links to open from the front page or get the drop down menu to work so I could see page layouts. Not sure if this is a theme or demo display thing. didn’t see anything I had to close to get it to work.

    • Hi – I just tried the demo it on my iPad2, and didn’t experience the same things (dropdowns worked from the menu). I’ll see if I can chase down someone with a 3 to test it on and get back to you. Thanks for the heads’ up!

  9. The theme is nice, but I agree with Kris that the font is rather small :( I wish it could be larger

  10. Have been cruising StudioPress for a while for an idea to a personal site. I think this one will fit the bill with very little modification to suit my needs. The Community Themes keep getting better with each offering, imo. Nicely done.

  11. Very nice child theme, I think this layout will fit really well for a client of mind.

  12. Yep. Gorgeous. Love it!

  13. This new theme is fabulous!! So many features….breathtaking. Thank you!

  14. Looks great- I especially love the clean layout.

  15. Awesome theme! A lot of cool features.

  16. Yep, I like this theme. Nice work, Frank.

  17. This is completely different theme and I really like it. Does it comes with custom post types to add new portfolio items?

    • yes, the theme include custom post types to manage the Portfolio items and categories.

      • Patrick … Does the portfolio feature allow us to assign “categories” so to speak … meaning if I have a Portfolio project that represents two separate industries and three different services my company provides, can I add those so that if someone were looking for projects for a specific industry it would bring any up that were coded as such, or if they were looking for specific services (e.g., foundation work) it would bring that up?

  18. I definitely think the font needs a bump up in size, but I love the elements and shortcodes.

The complexity of this theme makes me wonder whether ZigZagPress plans to release other Genesis themes in the future? I look forward to them if so!

    • Thanks! And yes – we’ve got a few others live on the ZZP site, and the team’s been working hard to finish up a couple more this month.

  19. This …. is a beauty!

    Off to buy it NOW!

Are there instructions (what plugins are being used and settings etc) included in the DL?
    Guess I’ll find out!

  20. This is indeed a great theme. It has a refreshing styling, and incorporates a lot of functionality. A review is available at WPReviewLab. (BTW, is this spam?)

  21. Joey chandler :

What gallery/slider on the home page do you use? Can I add HTML/video to it?

    Looks great.

    • Joey chandler :

Looks like wp-cycle which I love for its simplicity but hate since you can’t reorder slides. Any thoughts on replacing it with another slider?

    • It’s the Flexslider and yes it support video from YouTube and Vimeo. Just need to choose your video provider and paste your link in the slide.

  22. Can portfilio style slideshows be inserted into regular blogposts?

  23. Hello, the theme is great. You did a good job.
    Two questions before buying it:
    1) I have not seen this theme in the Genesis child themes forum. Is assistance provided for it as for any other Studiopress theme?
    2) Does the theme dashboard and files allow the same easy manipulation? Or is the approach different from the other Genesis themes construction?
    Thank you!

  24. Awesome. Wonderful. Like always at Studiopress. Already bought and for developers its only 24$.

  25. For developers only $24 …. Is there something we need to buy or register for to be considered “developer”? I have the Pro Plus package, does that qualify? Where on the StudioPress site are all of the Community Genesis child themes displayed together? I would love to see one blog post, page or something that explains the type of support that we can expect for the Community themes and an introduction to each of the companies/developers behind them.

  26. Seems! Beautiful and I have already purchased it for only $24 its another great thing. Thanks!

  27. Hello Brian,

Is this theme supported in the StudioPress forums, even though it’s a Community Child Theme?

  28. Just bought the theme… mostly to see how you implemented the tabs :-)
I do notice that the theme gets a lot more validation errors than other Genesis Child themes. Is that the price to pay for the extra functionality ?

    • depends of what container u r using, however most errors are generated by cross ref need for other device and browser and some minor css tweak. Please check license agreement of before using our code 😉

  29. What happened to the link to purchase just the child theme for Megalithe? It was here… and now the only option is to buy the child theme with the framework, which I already have.

  30. Hi Brian,

I just checked Megalith theme it is looking very amazing with a professional look.I am using copyblogger child theme with genesis but i think Megalith child theme is much much better,i would definetly go for it.

    Thank You

  31. Just bought the theme. And yes, for returning customer, you got 40% off 😀
That’s awesome. Just don’t have enough money to buy the Pro Plus package.

  32. Hello,

Nice theme, bought it and still in development. I want to use it for my own website (webdesign/photo). One little bug: I cannot change the logo from text to image. I have used the URL and the upload. I see the uploaded image in the theme option panel, but not on the website :( Is this a theme issue or a hosting issue or something? For the rest, it looks great and as a brand new Genesis user, good to see such an active community.

  33. Hello one offtopic question here, but regarding studiopress copyblogger theme.
I was completely pleaded with the previous copyblogger child theme, and I would like to know if there is any chance that you release current copyblogger theme (which is live at

    • I’m glad you’re enjoying the former Copyblogger theme! We don’t release our current site themes for download at this time, but do keep watching the blog – that’s where we announce new theme releases.

  34. What I like about the theme Megalithe is changing the pictures when you click on the buttons to industrial, residental etc.
I I see many possibilities with this theme. Our compliments for this.

  35. I installed the theme and love it and so does my client. Very clean design.

Question 1: Can I use the theme for another client or I have to buy one for each website?

Question 2: I am trying to remove the menu links from the footer. I can’t figure it out for the life of me. I only want the copyright info to post in the footer.
(you can see what I mean on this home page: )

  36. I am trying to upload images for the home slider. They “Stretch” to the full size of the page. Anyway to set the slider to only be let’s say 500 px? I am uploading images of that size.

Also, it seems that the “Slide Height” (under Genesis -> Megalithe Settings -> Slideshow Settings) has no effect. I changed it to 100 px but it does not change on the front end.

    • Never mind… It magically started working the way it should! I just realized that I have to use images full width (920). But I can use custom height as long as they are all the same.

What I REALLY REALLY like is the fact that this theme is native for mobile and other handheld devices. If I resize the page, it actually reduces the picture size of the slider.

  37. Support area for Megalithe is here: Please register first so we can track your ticket.

  38. Just noticed all the short codes that come with this one – great value.

  39. I would consider myself a very disappointed Megalithe buyer. I spent close to two hours this evening trying to do very “basic” stuff that should be automatic with any WordPress theme. For example, with Megalithe, I am not able to get my widgets to show up in the sidebar. In addition, I am not able to get my blog posts to show up on my homepage like they do in the Megalithe demo. I simply want my home page to be the “blog page” — with my posts listed below.

Sorry, but I’ve got better things to do with my time that to waste it on a theme that can’t even get this stuff right. I’m not the most technical person in the world, but I’ve been working with WordPress for a few years and I’ve never had these very basic problems before.

    • Hi Jon,
I’m very sorry about that! As you know, that is a Community Theme, so I would recommend reaching out to the guys at Zigzagpress. I can also make sure you get a refund, if you prefer – just email support at, attn: Rebecca, with your request.

    • Hi, Jon –

I’m sorry to hear you’re having difficulty setting up the theme. As Rebecca pointed out, we’d be happy to help you address those difficulties. This is the first we’ve heard of any issues with the “basic stuff” (like the widgets), so if you can provide a bit more information about your specific install, we’d be happy to help you address it!

    • We have a support desk and all clients tickets are reply within 24 hours maximum. We have check about your activities but unfortunately you never send a ticket, just sending negative feedback in our forum. Look to me you just good at complaining, which doesn’t make sense to me. If you have an issue , be a professional and use our support systems like everyone do.

  40. I love the styling on Megalite, but was wondering can the portfolio rollover be configured to show a lightbox like it does on your Vanilla theme?

  41. This need some modification, just send us a ticket and we will be happy to do it for you.

  42. Is there a way to show the user “Nickname” instead of the actual username in post?

I have a username of “ref-admin” (for security purposes, so that the username is not the default WP username). But we set the “Nickname” as Rapid Express Site Administrator. It does not look good in post to show “posted by ref-admin”. We would like to post to show “posted by Rapid Express Site Administrator”. Is this possible?

  43. Christa Alexandra :

I was hoping there was a way to exclude certain pages from the footer menu – with too many pages the footer menu gets clogged up. I’d like to exclude certain pages by page ID, which I’ve seen this done in other blogs but can’t find this code:

The pages can’t be private. Any ideas on where I could exclude them?
    Many thanks!
