I am using the Agency Theme. On my home page I am using the Genesis Responsive Slider. Underneath that I am utilizing the Home Left, Home Middle and Home Right sections with Feature Page Widgets.

Underneath the Feature Page Widgets I would like to include a full width text area. Can this be done?

You can add a new custom widget area there if you like.

There’s other ways to do this also.

    Brad,

Thank you for the reply. Is there anywhere that provides instructions on how to do this you could link me to?

    Thank you.

Thank you again for the reply. The code is easy enough for me to put in the home.php file….I’m assuming that gets put into my Agency Theme home.php?

To get the full page text area to show, do I make a new page and then set that as a static page? I’m sorry for the questions. I’m not a programmer and I’ve been figuring all this out as I go.

    Thank you.

    Hello Hector.

Some of the code goes in the home.php file and some in the child themes functions.php file which i have noted in the code snippet.

No need to create a new page as this code adds the new area to your existing home page which is what you requested.

If you created a new page, you’d lose the existing widget areas.

    Brad,

I put the codes in where you suggested and now I do see the full content widget, so I’m assuming I must have put the codes in correctly. I just did a quick test by using the text widget for my full content area and it worked. Is there a way to change the font color of the “Title” to red?

I can’t thank you enough for your help. I’m slowly starting to figure this out.

    Good stuff Hector!

I do suggest you install the Firebug addon for the Firefox browser and inspect the title which will enable you to change the title color in real time using your browser.

This will display the CSS code as well and teach you how CSS works.

Please start a new thread for using CSS with title colors. Thanks
