I have copied the tutorial here: http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/add-widgeted-sidebar

into the appropriate functions.php and home.php

The text I placed in the widget is “This is a test of Mack’s new widget” http://faganandassociatesinc.com/

WHY IS IT NOT IN IT’S OWN WRAPPER?????

This theme is making me crazy. Will someone please describe how to create separate areas for the home page.

Thank you in advance for any support! If I try to hire one of the people listed. There has been no response.

I am not sure what the question is.

The sidebar that you have added is in its own div with a class of “after-content-ad”, isn’t it?

    Can you elaborate?

There’s no need to edit the home.php file.

Where exactly do you want the widget? Is the currenet location correct?

Do you want the widget area to take up the full content width?

Or do you want 3 more featured widgets on the homepage?

    Which genesis_hook location? http://genesistutorials.com/visual-hook-guide/

Once you have the hook location you want, then you can add the code and change the conditional tag so it only displays on the homepage is_home()

Or you can add more widgets by duplicating them in your home.php file and functions.php file.

Send me a Private message if you want to hire me and i’ll do it for you.
