I'm likely misunderstanding the purpose of this widget. This particular theme is so based on listing searches that a few other basics are missing from what I need. I'm hoping to get a couple of basic questions answered so that I can figure out whether the theme can, ultimately, be configured the way I'm hoping ...
1. In the Home Top area, I set up three Featured Page widgets. I'd like them to be nicely centered/spaced across the page. I've attempted to set them to Left, Center, and Right, but they stack at the left side of the home page, one right after the other. Based on the spacing, there could easily be a fourth widget, but I only want three. I also tried changing the size of the image from Thumbnail to Properties, but that didn't work either. And "Properties" is probably too big anyway. So ... can these be spaced as they should be and can they be custom sized somehow?
2. And actually, what I want these to do somehow is allow someone to either Hover (my preference) and produce some sort of a slide-out menu or allow someone to click on the widget and see a slide-out, side, or drop-down menu appear. Am I using the wrong sort of widget here? (and, truth be told, I'd prefer that these "widgets" actually be custom images rather than just boxes)
3. Which leads to the last question ... can other widgets be used in the design of this theme other than those than appear in the customizing area?
Thanks for your thoughts!

1. You can use CSS to display the Genesis featured page widgets inline however the default CSS styles the AgentPress Listings plugin widgets which you can install from your plugins screen.
2. Can be done with custom coding or you might find a tutorial that helps you do that.
3. You can add as many widgets as you like. The CSS to style them will use different classes which are unique for each widget so you can target them without effecting other widgets.
May 13, 2015 at 4:50 pm #152078GNemesMemberThanks for the quick response, Brad. I actually have read the setup guide extensively and worked through most of it. However, the featured page widgets, as instructed, do not space evenly across the screen. They stack to the left. I expect that's because the featured page widgets are meant to be 4 across rather than 3. They won't center. And yes, I have installed the AgentPress Listings plugin widget.
Having worked with a few different sites, I do find that the StudioPress themes are convoluted and generally don't respond as expected. I'm not an expert coder, however I do know how to dink around with various editors. I'm just incredibly rusty and don't really have the desire to get too deeply into this.
Example: I attempted to use the AgentPress Listings/Search widget. One shoudl be able to easily add taxonomies and have them appear in the widget as checkboxes. However, that doesn't work. The only option is ONE button with "Search Properties." There's no taxonomy choice. And yes, I did go in and add them. Looking at the setup guide shows that the list of taxonomies should be in the customize area of the widget. No it doesn't. There's not a list.

.home-top .featuredpage { clear: none; width: 32%; }
May 13, 2015 at 5:37 pm #152090GNemesMemberSo I'm a little confused. I just received an email message through the forum with a reply from you that isn't anything like the reply just above with the example.
Where I hesitated on this previously is that the css is prefaced with .full-width .featuredpage I assumed that .full-width meant that the item was "full width" of the page.
Thanks for your input. I know you guys that truly know what you're looking for in these files are sick to death of these basic questions, but, you see, the result of us novices have to learn somewhere and rely on your knowledge to help us understand code sections in these themes.
Now then ... I need to figure out what sections to modify to make these items display a designated image rather than a bland rectangle ... and then figure out how to make a menu (is that the term I want?) appear when the image is clicked or hovered. Any additional feedback or suggests you may have is gratefully received!

This method enables you to simply copy and paste the CSS whereas my original solution would have required you to modify the default CSS.
