Hi There. I would like to find out if I can make changes directly to the Genesis Theme? I would like to change the font and widgetize the home page if possible?
I have purchased the Foodie child theme but there is very little or no support available which is very frustrating. Therefore, I would prefer to work directly with the Genesis theme if possible. I am very new to Genesis and would greatly appreciate some advice.
Thanking you in advance

thank you. I am using your code, but it seems doesn't work well.
Code for style.css:
h2.sub-title {
font-size: 28px;
color:#911414;
display:block;
font-style:italic;
}Markup:
<h2 class="sub-title">Cerchi un Hosting ottimizzato WordPress? Perchè non provi SiteGround? Te lo consiglio. Scopriamo le caratteristiche di questo Provider, nell'articolo di seguito.</h2>

As you can see online, the H2 sub-title, for sub-description, no reflect the elements in the css. Why?

February 17, 2014 at 6:54 am #90738Davinder Singh KainthMemberMaking changes directly to Genesis Theme file is not recommended as you will lose them with next update of Genesis. Always make style changes to "foodies theme" files. To change font style ( meaning, using a different font), change font name in functions.php and style.css files. Regarding widgetize homepage, rename your front-page file to any name - this will switch website to blog like layout. If you need professional customization support, email iguiding AT gmail DOT com

Need Genesis help? Davinder @ iGuiding Media | My Blog | Fresh Genesis ThemesFebruary 17, 2014 at 11:43 am #90812Jason WeakleyMemberI am having trouble, I do not know coding. I can copy and paste, but I don't know what to do with this:
//* Enqueue EB Garamond and Spinnaker Google fonts add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'agency_google_fonts' ); function agency_google_fonts() { wp_enqueue_style( 'google-fonts', '//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=EB+Garamond|Spinnaker', array(), CHILD_THEME_VERSION ); }
This is located in the functions.php file when I am editing the Agency Pro theme when I am logged into WordPress>Appearances>Editor.
I can see that it is using Garamond, but I have no idea how to change it to something more like "Century Gothic"Your help is greatly appreciated!
February 26, 2014 at 1:45 pm #92520shaybocksMemberHello again Kumari!
Again, I want to point out that on February 11th, Heather, a member of my support team, responded to your support request 1 hour after you submitted it.
We're happy to help so just let us know what you need! Davinder is correct that you'll need to change the font names in functions.php and style.css. The home page for Foodie is already widgetized. All you have to do is drag and drop in the necessary widgets and you can get all the details on how to set that up at http://shaybocks.com/2013/09/25/how-to-configure-the-home-page/
If you need anything else, please submit a support ticket at http://shaybocks.com/support-2/. We're happy to help!
February 26, 2014 at 2:45 pm #92542stylesocietyMemberThank you for your response Shay,
Yes, I did receive a response on my initial email that was sent when I was setting up my website but no response on any of my other follow up questions sent on the 13th, 17th and 19th of February.
I was asking if I could make changes to Genesis theme directly which is not possible, as I need to work with a child theme, from what I've gathered. Foodie theme looks great on Safari and Chrome but errors were showing up on Internet Expolrer and on ipad and iphone. I have managed to correct these with the help of paid support via my local host.
Hopefully you can assist me in resolving the issue regarding images that are overlapping onto the sidebar and showing at 100% and not scaled down to post size.
February 26, 2014 at 3:48 pm #92554shaybocksMemberI am only showing the one support email. Can you forward me the documentation you have for the other support requests? I want to make sure that nothing is falling through the cracks here.
I'm glad to hear that you were able to get most of your issues resolved. The image issue sounds like a conflict with the Pinterest Pin It plugin. We've had several issues with that since their latest update. You can check their support forum for a fix.
February 26, 2014 at 3:51 pm #92556stylesocietyMemberI do not have documentation to forward to you because I submitted my support requests via your Support page http://shaybocks.com/support/
Thank you. I will contact the Pin It support page.
February 26, 2014 at 3:53 pm #92557shaybocksMemberDid you receive a confirmation email from my site? I hate to think that I'm not receiving support requests...
February 26, 2014 at 3:54 pm #92559stylesocietyMemberNo, I did not receive any emails except for the initial response.
February 26, 2014 at 3:59 pm #92561shaybocksMemberKumari, I double checked my gravity forms entries and I'm still only showing the one support request. If you need to submit another request, please make sure you reach the confirmation page to know that your ticket was submitted. We're here to help! 🙂
February 26, 2014 at 4:04 pm #92563stylesocietyMemberThat's strange though. I did reach a confirmation page with every support request that I submitted via the Support page. There must be a gremlin in the system. But thank you Shay. Much appreciate it.
