    I am having trouble changing the name. The word “Genesis” has no meaning to the individual site admins on our multi-site installation, so I’d like to change it to something better for our organization. I have extended the class as shown below:

    class UVASOMNEWS_Admin_Settings extends Genesis_Admin_Settings {
    /**Change the name of the Genesis settings page to UVA SOM.*/
    function __construct() {
    $menu_ops = apply_filters(
    'main_menu' => array(
    'menu_title' => 'UVA SOM Site Settings'
    $this->create( $menu_ops);

    It’s not throwing an error, but it’s not working either. Any ideas?

    I’ve had good success with Admin Menu Editor Pro, great tool for editing menus and changing the backend presentation for users. ¬†Great in an environment where folks aren’t familiar with WordPress or Genesis.

    Now this goes beyond editing just that link name.  Offers a lot more functions and works nicely with multisite.

    Loving the Genesis Life!
