    I’m trying to change the font in the Featured Section of the Education theme. I notice, though, that if I make any changes, the font for the titles in the sidebar are also changed.

    My url is: amadorvalleyhs.org

    It looks like I am getting into deeper CSS waters. Any recommendations on where to turn in order to make changes to the widgets just for the Featured section? (I would also like to make changes in text alignment, size, etc.)

    Thank you,

    Erik

    Add the following sample CSS at the end of child theme’s style.css (WP dashboard -> Appearance -> Editor) and customize it to your liking.

    .genesis_responsive_slider h2, .genesis_responsive_slider h2 a {
    font-size: 20px;
    font-style: italic;
    }

    #home-featured .genesis_responsive_slider p {
    font-size: 13px;
    font-style: italic;
    }

    Thank you, Srid–

    Is your suggestion for the slider? I probably wasn’t clear but I was referring to the section under the slider. In the Education theme it is referred to as the featured section. #home-featured .featured

    I tried making the adjustments below. Does that look right to you? Unfortunately, it didn’t work.

    .featured h2, .featured h2 a {
    font-size: 50px;
    }

    #home-featured .featured p {
    font-size: 50px;
    }

    }

    And this is for the title of the widgets going into the featured section. Thanks!

    aah, ok.

    Try the “#home-featured .widget-area h4″ selector.

    Ex.:

    #home-featured .widget-area h4 {
    font-size: 20px;
    font-style: italic;
    }
